This morning early. 264 mag 121 gr Hammer. Complete pass thru both shoulders. Also hit ribs on both sides going in & out. Minimum amount of blood shot meat. Don't like making a shoulder shot but trees & oak brush obscured the elk as they moved in & out. Because of brush I had to make a off hand shot. One shot ..

O ya long range, about 80 yds. Large mature older dry cow. About as big as they come
 
In a way it's a land owner tag. My land. Take elk every tear. Also for sale. Dry cow because had no calf. Have seen many cows still lactating this time of year.

Yes this is my 35 acre parcel with home that is for sale. A hunters dream yet in 20 minutes be in Durango for shopping , entertainment , etc. Come back home for absolute quite & serenity.. Another comparison
