I just picked up a used Cooper Model 52 30-06. It was a shotshow 2014 gun. I have added some pictures. It looks very similar to a custom classic. It was the guy's father who owned it and he did not have a box or target. I was planning on working up a load using IMR-4350 powder. I did some searches on this gun where someone is showing the target. Cooper designated a target using 4064 powder and shooting Sierra Match King 168 grain bullets. Any thoughts on what loads folks have had good experience with in dealing with 165, 180, and possibly 200 grain bullets? If you have some experience for a Cooper classic 30-06, that would be really cool.

I have a Ruger M77 30.06, and I have just okay results with the IMR 4064 powder, loading several recipes and just around 1 moa as the best. My best load was with 54.7 of H4350, producing .467 moa with 180 gn Nosler BT.

Beautiful rifle, btw.

Without pulling my notes from last year, I tried W760, H4831, RL22, RL19, H380, IMR 4350, with two primers (WLR and Fed 210 M). I also tried the Nosler Accubond 190, but this rifle is an early 70's rifle with a 1:10 twist, and it just didn't like the 190's.

My best deer hunting load was Nosler 180 Ballistic Tip, H4350 @ 54.7, Fed 210M primer, and Hornady brass That gave me .467 moa @ 2650 MV. Obviously your rifle may hate this load, but if you can find H4350, it's a good powder to at least try.

My best 30/06 load for my T/C Venture is 55.0 IMR-4350 with a Barnes 168 TTSX, Fed 210 primer and Remington brass. I get 1/2 inch groups at 100 with it.
