Bout to order a rifle, which caliber?

I am going to order a stainless tikka t3 light as kind of a throw in the truck / coyote rifle. I am trying to decide 223, or 243. The 223 I can shoot a little cheaper and wont heat the barrel up at fast but I probably wont be out shooting it round after round anyway. 243, i can shoot a little more accurate in the wind, and I could use it for deer and antelope if I wanted. I am putting a leupold 3-9 with the long range duplex on it cause I already have it so itll be a 500 or less rifle. I am leaning towards 243 but wanting some input.

243....of the two your considering. 243 is a great all around caliber.




I am looking at a 260rem for similar purpose. Not sure whether Tikka comes in that caliber. Definitley buck wind and take a deer.

I would go 6.5x55, light recoil and just plain awesome, deer will fall to the 223 too.
