best powder for reloading 308.

I go with H 4895 especially in
Semi Auto.

Temp stable, great velocity w 150 gr bullets.

Varget maybe 2nd. Dont believe you will get as much velocity as w H 4895 but it is also temp stable.

It may be more available than H4895 right now.

I also shoot the Barnes 130 TTSX. While I couldn't get my rifle to shoot great with Varget, it does shoot sub .5moa @ 400yds with a healthy dose of 8208XBR. That little bullet just SHOOTS.
A2460 does wonders with the 130TTSX. Running mine at 3135 fps out of a 18" bolt gun. Barrel gained 50 FPS after 200 rounds. Was at 3085 and recently I noticed high impact on shots. Hooked up magnettospeed and sure enough up in speed now to 3135 with SD of 9.

IMR 3031 has always worked well for me in all the 308's I've tested, with proper load development of course.
308's tend to like medium burn rate powders with medium weight bullets and usually aren't very picky. 3031 is on the faster side and gives excellent velocity, especially in shorter barrel lengths.

I have loaded some 168TMK with RL15 and some with Varget, for M70, but have yet to test them
Any suggestions for AR-10 20inch and FAL 20inch? (First is DI, second is piston)
AR Comp. By far the most accurate powder out of the 8 I tried in my AR 10 with 165-168 grain bullets. It is also my preferred in both of my 6.5 Grendels. If I could only have one powder for these two calibers, AR Comp would be it.
