What's the best bullet out of a 308 Win for Elk? Ruger Scout rifle or Springfield M1A National Match with scope?

My vote would go to a 165gr Nosler Partition, opens up well at .308 velocities with enough weight to penetrate.

I think I'd opt for any mono-metal bullet in the 150-165gr class. However, if given the option, I'd rather take a cartridge with more horsepower.
