Any of you guys know where I can get a bench mat that depicts the powder burn rate? TIAV
 
May I ask what you need it for?
The reason I ask is because no powder company uses a standard to base their numbers off.
So, basing a list off their own burn rate information does not compare with another companies data.
The lists are a guess at best, and even in the same powder company, powders switch places depending on cartridge size and burn characteristics.
For example, in more than a few cartridges, RL19 and RL22 swap positions. H4350 and Varget also do the same. There are many examples of this proving that burn rate is not constant, it varies considerably.

Sorry, I should have added that you can have the burn chart laminated, 3D printed, plexiglassed, etc., by stores that provide this service (e.g., Staples, Michaels), or specialty craft stores that can turn it into a workbench mat; it just depends on how elaborate and how much you are willing to spend. Agreed, it is simply a guide/reference, not an exact science, but a nice list to get a general idea and have a baseline for load development, and as with everything else, YMMV. So proceed with caution, and adjust accordingly.

I have a copy of the Hodgdon burn rate chart, the one posted above. This info is different than Alliant's or V.V.? I'm looking for faster burning powders for lighter bullets in my .243. I figured the chart data would be useful for at a glance reference while I'm choosing which powder to load for a particular round based on projectile weight. So I want a bench mat that shows the info. If the data is not consistent then what good is it?

FWIW I am loading so I can develop competition loads to take to the NBRSA events. Thanks to all who have helped me get this far. I'll keep plugging away.

Yes, that is exactly @MagnumManiac's point. There are too many variables; for instance, powder manufacturers have different load recommendations for X bullets, and bullet manufacturers have their own recommendations for X powders. Good luck!

My savage 243 had a real love affair with IMR-3031 and the hornady 100 gr interlock many years ago. It put them in the same hole and always placed top 3 in the club deer rifle shoot. I took a doe in WV deer season with a neck shot at 400 yds. My point being, 3031 isnt a popular powder for the 243 nor is it slow burning but the rifle liked it. This is why we test. Dont be afraid to think outside the box. Burn rate charts have much in common with toilet paper imo
 
I will add here, reduced loads require experience and more than a baseline understanding in regard to the 243.
It is well documented that it behaves violently with certain reduced loads with a lot of powders.
I recommend not choosing a powder based off a burn rate chart, use only tested data and DO NOT go below listed minimum powder charges.
Have seen my fair share of blown up 243's over the years.

I'm well aware that undercharged rounds can be just as dangerous as overcharged rounds. It's a good point that should be repeated from time to time. I think it's especially important to remind new reloaders to remain inside the parameters set in the load manual. Both the low and the high end.

Had to go outside the box during the powder shortages
I had some fun testing powders listed in orders of similar burn rates. Loaded batches of a few powders with same grain weight and increased/decreased charges to observe characteristics. I could see which pressured out before others. Monitored the primer pocket growth, velocities, etc.
