Bare rifle weights with 2b

It's going to be tough to get to 8.5 lb. scoped with the Rem LA. It probably can be done, but your going to have to carefully source every component. Have you picked a target weight or are you just trying to estimate the finished weight?

Not a steel barrel, but close to your weight goal is my 280 AI.

The lightest m700 I own is my 375h&h (Rem 700 sps d.g.). It weighs 8# flat with a straight 6 Nikon Monarch on top. With a bigger optic or smaller hole like the 7mm you are building you are going to have to put things on a diet to stay under 9# or so. Carbon bbl's, lightweight stocks, and a rather light scope would help.

Oregon gunsmithing in Pendleton, Oregon built the rifle. Believe they use their own barrels. Haven't shot this rifle (7mm wsm) enough yet. Have a couple other rifles that he built and they shoot quite well.
