As the days keep getting shorter, "The Day" keeps getting closer.

We're a couple of weeks out from white tail and about five weeks from muley rifle seasons opening.

As many years and as many places as I've hunted scenes like these always still manage to stir my blood.

"Muley" the big guy in the back is at least 5 years old this year and we've been watching him hard for the last three or four to see if he was going to get any better. He get's bigger with longer main beams and wider but he just seems to lack the genetics to grow any more points so he's probably going to be first on the list for culling this year.
