If so, what happened? Talk to me please. It's intriguing and available.
Interesting, thanks. I assume by the burn rate it's more appropriate with heavier slugs but can't argue with accuracy and acceptable if not top end velocity. Loving all these new temp insensitive copper eating double base powders lately. Time will tell if they are as consistent and dependable as the equally beloved old school Hodgdon/imr single base propellants (long live the 4064 4350 4831 7828 quadrilateral of perfection!) There's fun to be had in figuring that out.I'm working with it now for a Coyote load with 90 gr Sierras .78@ 3420 FPS and its showing promise but I'm going to Speer 100gr bullets as Sierra discontinued the 90's in 270
I did load it in my 300WSM and it was awesomeInteresting, thanks. Tell me more! (Please). What bullet weight, what velocity, es etc... (I understand the need to leave out the charge weight)I did load it in my 300WSM and it was awesome
I set out to build a 500 yard Deer Laser and it workedTell me more! (Please). What bullet weight, what velocity, es etc... (I understand the need to leave out the charge weight)
That's fantastic. I know all sensibility and data say that high bc heavy for caliber soft bullets are the right choice but there is something I love about light monometals going at warp. There's a vid on YouTube of a guy chronoing a custom loaded .30-378 wby with a 130 Barnes ttsx at 4150. It's "interesting".I set out to build a 500 yard Deer Laser and it worked
300WSM
124 Hammer
Staball 6.5@ 75.5gr
3812 FPS
.78 MOA
I have since went back to my H414 load but it was neck and neck with it
I'm anxious for Deer season to get here, My holdover @ 500 is 1.5 Mils and at that speed the static shock should be tremendous, and I agree as I shoot 178 ELDX's out of my 308 and it's deadly but there is just something alluring to me about fast and accurate stuff, you can hear these bullets when shooting @ 500, they literally howl, to get back to the Staball i would still be using it but it's hard to find in my area and I had plenty of H414 on hand is the only reason i switched and the 414 was a little faster and accurateThat's fantastic.
