Anybody loading a 6.5-300 with RL26?

Since you are in AZ, I would caution you on max loads of RL26. It can really pressure up above 85°F if you are close to max loads.

I have used IMR8133 in a couple 6.5-300Wby. Since it is discontinued, Retumbo is the substitute for it.

I've got Retumbo, H1000, and N568. Sounds like I need to set the RL26 aside for something else.

Thanks, Lance.

While I was researching the 6.5-300 Weatherby for myself, the VV powders weren't an option, so those proposed were RE25 (not RE26), H1000 and Retumbo.
Retumbo was the most suitable, so that was chosen.
29" 1:8" twist 4 groove barrel was also suggested, similar to my 264WM, 29.5" 1:8" twist 6 groove, a 4 groove was suggested.

Cheers.

That's interesting. -25 is faster than -26.

Think I'm going to try out N568 first and go from there. I've got N570 as well but that stuff seems to be a little hard on throats.

25 is not faster than 26, it's the other way around over the pressure trace, just as 23 is faster than 22…
25 is about identical with H1000, but gives higher velocities…

Cheers.

When Alliant "numbered" R23 and R26 they confused lots of people… should have been R21 and R24 in my opinion !!! Maybe more a marketing/product line decision; look R23 and R26 are "new and improved" 😂😜
