Tracking a wounded grizzly through the thick willows is the one of the worst things as a guide.

Would a thermal monocular help that situation? Spotting the body heat thru the brush before you can see the bear normally?

Sorry for the long reply time . NASS created a Canadian series using a rebated rim on the Jefferies .416 . Basically Remington changed shoulder angle and brought out the ultra mag. Aubrey White and his partner had brass produced in 7 mm, 300, 338, 375 and 416 with over 100,000 of each product size shells made. A factory brass. Was in production for several years before Remington. Cartridges of the World has it in their books late 80's.

Well after becoming frustrated with the limitations of my Tikka actioned 300WM for trying other loads I am moving on. I am having a 300PRC barrel spun up for my BAT Vampire based 7PRC. Already using Hawkins Hunter 300PRC mags. So 203gr Hammer HHT and similar to be tried. Any 308 suggested bullets that benefit from a 300PRC barrel?

Took it out the other day for first time this year. Only 2 shot groups to let barrel cool with n570.

Bunch of Africa stuff up to zebra, big hogs in Texas. Only bullet that didn't go all the way through was quartering to me shot on wildebeest at 350 yards, stopped under hide on far hip.

I'll probably shoot a grizzly in the Yukon this year with ceb lasers. Maybe bergers again. Usually I'll have a load from in close with a frames too. Grizzlys aren't really that big. Coastal brown bears are a different story

No haven't tried the tipped version.

I've shot several coastal brown bears with the 260g accubond out of my 375HH. They have performed flawlessly.
