I have a large shank Savage 111 7mm RUM barrel that I have been hoping to do a build with for some time, but I have been unsuccessful in finding a action that will fit it. Does anyone have any suggestions on what aftermarket actions I might be able to use to get this project started? Thanks!

You want to buy a custom action to use a $100 factory chambered barrel?

You could always just use a large shank Savage action. Load it single shot in a short mag action. Or, you could get a new long action savage action. 338 Lapua action or a 375 Ruger actions were large shank.

I've been on the hunt for a Savage large shank long action but haven't had any luck.

When you can catch them on rebate and on sale at sportsmans outdoor superstore or grabagun, the 112 target magnum can be had for a relatively good deal. Will only be a single shot but has the target accutrigger, which for my style of shooting is a fair tradeoff, but not for all.

There are about a dozen Savage Alaskan Brush Hunter's chambered in 375 Ruger on Gunbroker right now. Several had $500 starting bids, several others had buy it now prices right around $600.

Any of these will give you a stainless long action large shank action. They will also be centerfeed, and DBM, with an accutrigger.
