97 Absolute Hammer 3165FPS 6.5 Grendel

Chasing 3000 FPS with the 97 Absolute Hammer out of my 20" 1:8TR 6.5 Grendel. Results were outstanding.
Ran the numbers against BAE. At this velocity the 97AH out performs all current boxed ammo with impact velocity with half the hold over out to 300 yards. Most boxed ammo is using 24" barrel velocities. These numbers are from a 20" barrel.

Kicker is to use 7.62x39 cases neck down with your 6.5GL die. and large mag primers. It has the same internal case volume as a standard 6.5GL case at 35.5gr. But those large mag primers have been boosting all my other 6.5GL loads consistently about 100FPS.

Great tip! I have been making 6.5 Grendel brass this very way for the same reason. Magnum primers should be a part of every load work up. I prefer the normally heavier (122-124g) 7.62x39, personally. Low single digit SD sure makes it easy to dial up predictably! Great video!
