Rem 700 24" Douglas 150 NP over 80.5 /h-1000 @ 3316 & .93 moa . Western Oklahoma plains !!!
🤨 hey you, are you huntin in my plains??😁

That's where I am from and still stomp

Mine will have a 26" Shilen barrel 9.25 twist

Ok, found my info for WMR and 7STW:
139/140g, min 73g, max 78g.
150/154g, min 71g, max 74g.
160g, min 69g, max 73g.
175g, min 67g, max 71g.
This powder is slower than WXR, which is rebranded RE22.
Another good powder for the last heavy bullets is RETUMBO, I know there is supply difficulty, I have loads for H50BMG too, if interested.

Cheers.

Thank you very much.
I have a pile of the WMR and a chance to get 16 more pounds of it 😳
I really hope that it works good for it

A group of us fell down that rabbit hole years ago while looking for the perfect antelope rifle. We tried WMR, 780, 870, 8700 and got some eye popping velocities with 140 grain bullets. Despite the velocities we couldn't get any of the really slow powders to shoot accurately, and the velocity deviation was as high as +/- 70 FPS. All four of us settled on 83.0 grians of IMR 7828 and 140 grain accubonds. If I rememebr correctly the velocity was 3300 +/- FPS and I was getting 1" groups at 200 yards.

I am hoping that I can get pretty close groups with the WMR and then use a tunerbreak and see if I can get it to tighten up.

Victor3ranger,

I wish you the best of luck. I found the 7mm STW to be a very challenging cartridge to load for, but I don't regret it at all. I learned a lot while playing around with the STW that has saved me a lot of time and frustration with other over bore cartridges. I finally shot the throat out of that stainless model 70 and rebarreled it to 416 REM MAG. I still think about building another STW from time to time.

I have like 40lbs of the WMR so I am keeping my fingers crossed that mine might like it, if not I am going to try H1000 next.
If that doesn't work then it's time to hunt for different powder 😞
