6.5 x 06 Just input

I run nothing but the 140 Bergers. You can wait untill after its headspace and on the action and stamp or engrave after or I know some manufacters stamp on the end of the shank few none at all.

I got a chance to shake a leg today at the range,,, 47grains of H4350 for the 147 ELD-M's at 2740 ft-per from the 24" barrel,,, that's a pin-hole load with a super tight water line for my unit... 8 twist medium weigth B Jury Stainless Steel...

The next run will be H-1000 53 or 54gr of charge to push the 140's,,, of course I'll work my way up there from the starting point... It should clock around 2930 ft-per seconds if my calculations are correct...

What a treat to shoot with the 147's today,,, limited recoil for the 10 1/2 lb set-up with glass and extras,,, we set the trigger tech to 1.8 lbs...

I resized some of my 30/06 Lapua brass,,, it needed timing back to get to the 2.494 case length,,, the necks will need thinning since it pretty stiff crunching it down,,, Ha... I must be out of shape,,, I'll order a new lot of Poo brass since its easier to work when new and less chances of wrecking my 30/06 stuff that works good for the rifle it was intended for...

Man oh man,,, I wished I knew about the 6.5 A-square years ago,,, what a dream to handle this low recoil ammo,,, a whole lot less Windage to dialing for elevation and wind,,, a fraction less then my 308...

Nothing like owning 3 tack drivers,,, Ha,,, I'll get the Square dialed in,,, then put it away for hunting season,,, that's what I built it for,,,, then its time to finish touching up the edges on the former 308 FTR unit as I switch it to a PRS rig...

I might send the bull barrel on it to my gun Smith to flute since its pretty heavy in the F configuration,,, it will act as a spare hunting rifle...

More to follow as I start playing with it in the weeks to come...

Cheers from the 49 paralle...

Current 6.5-06 is in back of safe with an eroded throat. New chamber will be a 6.5-270 so I can neck down 270 and go without trimming to length. Will probably throat it for 140 vld but the 156 EOL that is coming out looks quite good. For many years the 140 vld has done the bulk of my big game killing. Kind of hate trying anything new. RL26 and RL22 worked best for me.

I have a set of 6.5-06 dies. They should work fine still. Have heard if folks using bushing dies for 280 or 30-06 and swapping out the bushing. I prefer the 270 win brass as I am not into neck turning. Some types of 30-06 may need turning to work.

Are you selling the 65-06 dies?
