Had the 6.5 300 for a few years now thinking about reloading it mainly for deer hogs. Any advice on powder and bullets right now far as powder I have imr 7828 also in ssc same for imr 4831 reloader 25 h1000 and us869 also fed 215 large magnum primers. Thanks in advance

Of those choices, I'd first start with H1000. It's one of the slowest powders you have and it's very temperature stable and well known for being an excellent powder for magnum cartridges. US869 also works well in those big boomers, but it's a ball powder and isn't very temp stable. H50BMG would be a good powder to try out if you're able to get some.

Howdy, deer and hogs. I have a 6.5-300 and I would not wear my barrel with anything over 140gr. I would recommend 127 TTSX, or 124 H.H. with H.1000 or 7828. With those combos, you will get 1200 to 1500 rounds and probably more before your barrel shows wear. With this combo you don't have to run them at MAX. Try it and you will like it. 👍😎
