35 Whelen AI build for Dad's Christmas gift

And here is the finished bedding. As you can see in the bottom metal bedding, the rear pillar has a washer that I put in the bedding, as I cut the pillar slightly too short, but this washer in the bedding compound is plenty sturdy.

And the rest of the bedding. As this is gonna be somewhat of a higher recoiling rifle, I wanted to fully bed the action for strength. As you can see from the shape of the action, I believe the curved areas back by the trigger will create a very strong contour. There is no contact with the barrel, just the fully bedded action. I think the bedding came out really well.

Awesome gift, and a great round. My cousin has a whelen that always seemed to hit harder than even the ballistics, good as they are, would indicate.

Thanks all :) ill try to get a good picture of him with his new gun and brass (a BIG thanks to member TOM H for his very generous donation) tomorrow and post it up. Again, thank you everyone for all the compliments and and encouragement. I wish you all a very Merry Christmas, and hope you all the best on this holy night.

Again, Merry Christmas

Pretty obvious what this is!!! We all love gifts shaped like this ha ha he still doesn't know for sure yet though...

Dad with his new rifle and brass!!! He was soo excited...This is an old action he got from his uncle who has since passed away...along with the gunsmith who put it together, Franz Bryner, from north Utah. If any of you knew him, you know he was a great gunsmith, and quite a character. The barrel is from a friend of my Dad's, my dad traded him one of his hand made knifes for the barrel. This gun has a lot of heart and soul in it, and is a product of many hands.

This was quite a special Christmas, and I hope you guys can enjoy this story. Thanks all...The next photos I post will be groups this rifle produces gun)

What a special and very sentimental Christmas story. Thanks for bringing all of us along. Merry Christmas!

Well, we finally got around to putting an optic on this rifle, and it is looking pretty promising, shooting clovers with fire forming loads! We shot several groups and all were very similar to this
