Thinking of building a 33xc what would be the best choice housing and barrel length to achieve a high velocity going to be hunting with it i know it's way to much for just hunting i love big guns high velocity thanks in advance

You might give Tubbs a call and see what he would recommend. Good Luck Cheers

Most are running 32"-34" barrels.
If it were me, 30"-29" would be my minimum for a hunting rig.
My own 338-416 Rigby Improved 45° is running a 34" barrel 9" twist, this gives me 3100-3150fps with 300's or above 3400fps with 265's.
I can use Tubb's 33XC brass to fireform into my round, it holds more powder.

Cheers.

What best action heavy enough for the 33xc

I'm running modified CZ550 Safari Magnum actions.
I also have a Granite Mountain Arms action for .640" bolt face cartridges.
All of mine are switch barrels.

Cheers.

I had a 338 LM improve built on a custom Defiance action (LPR) I got a moose with that rifle. I decided to rebarrel with a 338 Proof barrel so I moved up to 33xc. It's a 30" barrel with quite the brake on it. It can shoot something like the. 3's but it takes a LOT of practice. It's running 300gr berger hybrid at about 3150. The only issue i have is the cartridge is about .01" too long to eject a loaded round, so i have to release the bolt just a touch. It's a lot of cartridge for hunting but this does seem to be quite the viable setup.
