I am looking for load data for a .338 Lapua. I will be shooting an HS Precision with at 26" barrel. I prefer 250 grain bullets.

Just been loading for this caliber for a short time.
Currently have tried the Nosler 250gr partition over 83 and 85 grains of IMR 7828. With my rifle the 83gr I'm pushing 285X -2900FPS and the 85gr 301X 3050FPS. The load data I work from states, "the high load in the data for this powder was 89gr", I HAVE NOT TRIED that. SIDE NOTE: max is around 105gr for the 338LM for powder it can hold, MAX Capacity. It also stated that the 83gr load shot most accurate. I have been happy with the 83gr load thus far, much more to try.

I have some lapua Scenar 250 bullets to try next on the list, haven't picked the powders yet.

Informational:
Custom Loading Information... Be Careful, start with a low(er) powder load and work up.

338 Lapua

Ramshot Magnum is the powder of choice for Black Hills. With over 1,500 rounds of 338 Lapua experience my choices for powder would be:
1st. RL25
2nd.H50BMG
3rd.24N41
If you wish to stick to 250gr. bullets you might want to take a hard look at the Lapua 250gr. Lockbase. Semper Fi

With the 250 SMK MK my rifles (both AI) liked a close to maximum charge of the old 7828 (not the SSC). I now shoot the Improved version of the case and 300 GR pills and the 7828 is not my go to powder when the bullet wt and case volume increased.

I had marginal sucess with 7828 & 250 SMKs. The best load was 86.0. I moved to Retumbo and had better results. I'm still looking for the magic COAL.
