I've been searching for load info with this combination without a lot of success.

Is everyone finding the Berger's to be similar to the SMK's as far as loads go. Velocities, powder charges, powder? I know the H1000 is the go to in the Edge with a 300 gr SMK, does the same hold true with the Berger? I'm out of H1000 but have a little Retumbo. Where should I start with the Berger's? Thanks

Google The 338 Edge and you will find load data on it from its designer.

I use Retumbo with Berger 300gr bullets in my .338 EDGE rifles. The 300gr OTM and the 300gr Elite Hunter shoot to the same point of impact with the same powder charge.Retumbo shoots better in my rifles than H-1000. My normal load is 94 gr Retumbo with the 300gr Berger. This works in my Broughton, Lilja, Bartlein, and Benchmark barrels. I have one Obermeyer barrel and it takes 93gr with the 300gr Berger. The Obermeyer barrel is a .328 bore, .338 groove diameter. The others are .330 bore, .338 groove. The 300gr SMK normally takes about one-half grain less Retumbo to reach maximum safe pressure in my rifles vs the 300gr Berger. Gary

Thank you Ultraedge. Thats what I was looking for

Does .020 off seem to be a good starting point or should I start closer? I did find a post where a shooter said he didn't find any difference from .020 to .060 off. At .005 off he got some erratic groups. Thanks again for the info
