Hey all...
Been trying to get some late work done on a project I have coming up...
I ordered a Nosler M48 Patriot in 280 AI.

I've been running the 280 Rem for years... it's old hat.... I simply wanted a bit of change with the AI...
However, it seems that the mindset on propellant is a bit different.
Currently with my 280 Rem (Model 700 Fluted 24in ) Im running 60 Re22 WLR , max length 3.340.... getting an honest 3050fps with a 140 CT... and about .3moa.

Most folks seem to be running ABLR 150s or the 160 AB or the 168 Bergers....
and sticking with I7828 or Re22...
I want to "try" and stick with 150 grain, as 1: I ordered a few boxes of the ABLRs,
and 2: I have a &@!%#&% ton of 150s in 7mm in general...

Was just wondering everyone's thoughts on the propellants... & if Re23 or Re26 is worth entertaining... supposedly they are the "temp-stable" variants of 22 & 25 respectively.

I have had good luck with H4831SC with the 150 ABLR, and Ramshot Magnum with the 168 ABLR..

H4831 In the past with other cartridges, I haven't had much luck in the accuracy department... IMR was always the winner..gun)
Never fired up 4831SC though...may indeed have to give it a go.
My only fear is that Patriot is a 24in pipe... a lot of these magic " numbers " are all from 26 in pipes...

As long as I can get close to 3k with good pressures and good accuracy, Im happy...
Would almost prefer Hodgdon as you mentioned... as they are a temp stable powder.

Dunno how much I trust Alliants new propellants.... sometimes the best approach is to go with what you used to know...

We'll have to crack out that # of rl26 I have in the 7rum's and 7stw on Saturday Jokostel... rl23 may well be the better choice in your 280ai though.

I shoot H4831SC in my Cooper 280AI with 168 Bergers. Never tried any other powders as this was very accurate.
