Just wondering if anyone has any load data for the 140g Berger VLD's. Just purchased some and would like to give them a try. Thanks in advance for any advice or help. gun)

Get you some Retumbo and start at 60 grs and work up slowly. Hodgdon says 63.5 grs is max for 140's.

This is info I received from Walt berger hope it helps

Mine shoots best with about 66.5 grains of h1000. Retumbo was good also, but h1000 gave better groups and lower ES for me. I would say to try each at 200 yards if possible. I would also start with the bullet just off the lands. If they don't work try different seating depths with each and don't forget to try different primers. WLRM primers seem to be consistently more accurate for me in the magnum cases that I load for.

Thanks to all that have taken the time to add to the significant list of information. I love this site.........

Hey Guys, I'm going to turn my stock 700 264 win mag into my long range gun. I'm a new reloader. I need to know a good place to start reloading for the 264. I'm just looking for accuracy at first. I'll work on speed and accuracy later. It will be used on deer sized game. Info on accurate long range game taking bullets are what I'm looking for. Any info will be helpful. Thanks.

This is what I use in my 27 3/4" Shilen 9 twist barrel Rem 700. WW cases made from 7mm Rem mag cases match prepped. 66.5 grs Retumbo, CCI 250 primer, 130 gr Nosler Accubond, COAL 3.450 which is 10 thousands off the lands in my rifle. 3350 fps and half MOA accuracy. Works perfectly on deer from 30 to right at 500 yards so far on 12+ deer, actually lost count. Puts them on the ground almost before you hear the gun go off. BANG FLOP.

Will Retumbo burn fast enough for a 24 inch barrel?
Started low and am up to 64 grains and group is still shrinking with 140 gr hpbt and going to increase .5 grain and see how small the group will get.

Can you tell me what your barrel length and twist was?
