I have a remington 700 25-06 AI. It took me a while to get the right load built up for it but it's 1 of my go to rifles now.Who here has a 25-06AI??
I have a Ruger #1 in 25-06. It shoots very well for me. Has a Jared trugger. I load a Sierra 117/120gr hpbt bullet behind 51 gr. Of IMR 4350. I Think. Only have a Zise 3x9 on it. Still shoots very good at 400ydsWho here has a 25-06AI??
I have asked this before, what exactly is a Jared trigger? Is it an adjustable trigger? Can it be changed out readily? I have a 1b that could use a trigger upgrade.I have a Ruger #1 in 25-06. I believe billglausier meant JARD trigger…which are known for fine triggers especially benchrest/target style with pull weights in ounce measure ranges.I have asked this before, what exactly is a Jared trigger? Well…my first 2506 had a CM Douglas premium air gauged barrel…it took about 1200 rounds for the 100yd accuracy to degrade from 0.3 inches to 0.5….even with my load testing and frequent avid coyote hunting it took 30 winters before I replaced the barrel with stainless because I got tired of pampering that CM barrel in the snow…(and I had way more money after the kids split.)How many rounds down this 25-06 barrel do you think this is?
I bet it is a lot more than you think.
Cheers.
I have a 1962 7mm Rem mag with original stainless barrel that has a shade over 7000 rounds through it but with careful handloads it will still shoot under an inch at a hundred. Nice thing about burning it out is I have two more identical barrels with less than 300 on each so I'm set with it till I croak.Well…my first 2506 had a CM Douglas premium air gauged barrel…it took about 1200 rounds for the 100yd accuracy to degrade from 0.3 inches to 0.5….even with my load testing and frequent avid coyote hunting it took 30 winters before I replaced the barrel with stainless because I got tired of pampering that CM barrel in the snow…(and I had way more money after the kids split.)
Thos old originals had a form of blue, much of which is worn off on mine. I had my barrel and action ceracoted a few years ago. Looks much better nowMy original 7mag is almost that old. Is your barrel blued on non blued?
Mine the action is blued but the barrel isn't.
I call her ugly Betty
I took ugly Betty to the gunsmith and he is putting a new barrel and trigger on herThos old originals had a form of blue, much of which is worn off on mine. I had my barrel and action ceracoted a few years ago. Looks much better now
