I just bought a .240 mag mark 5 german made weatherby. I have heard that they are a little tricky to get the right load they like. Can I get some input on some of the things that have worked for others with this caliber

The first problem is the twist will be too slow for the heavy bullets. The second problem MAY be that the throat is burned being as the rifle is old.

The rifle should do well with 85 grain bullets so just pick a few and try them out. Perhaps some of the copper bullets or other bullets with a long bearing surface will jump the freebore accurately
