I'm currently having a nula 24b rebarreled to 1-7 twist 25/06. I picked up 100 125gr hammer hunters. I'm thinking it should make an excellent caribou and deer bullet. Anyone have any experience with this bullet or load data for it?

Pictures bellow show the bullet next to 115gr nosler ballistic tip and .264 124gr hammer hunter.

You should expect around 3500 fps from your Hammers.
There's load data listed in the Hammer Hunter load data thread.
Due to technical difficulties, the load data is only posted on the Hammertime Forum right now, under Reloading.

Really! I never have even with a 26 inch. about 3200 is even stressing the cases

I don't need to push them any harder than 3100-3150. I think they will kill like lightening at those speeds

They should. The 125 must be pretty new? I just had a 7 twist barrel put on my 25-06 and I didn't see these a couple months ago. I've been playing with the 110's but I think I will order some 121 and 125's

Same here, they didn't have the 125's when I was doing load development in my 257 Blackbird. So I used the 121's and found an accuracy node at 3440.

I loved the 120 Nosler BT. Take a many a deer with that bullet. The problem is they stop making them. i have been thinking about bring that 25/06 back to life. The only problem is the COAL of that combination and chambering the round. That 25/284 is interesting. I've been thinking of 25/280AI setup in a 7-1 twist. The 280AI case is a little longer to the shoulder, for a little more powder.

The rifle is complete. I finalized on the Swarovski 3.5-18x44. It weights right at 6 pounds 5 oz. I've tried a few loads with 125gr hammers and re25. I got light ejector marks in the brass at 56.5gr for 3160fps. I backed down a half grain and got 3110fps, no pressure signs.

I picked up a couple boxes of Hornady whitetail 117gr BTSP to get an initial zero with the z5. I was pretty impressed with how well it shot. The below 5 shot groups are with the 117gr Hornady at 100 and 300 yards.

Anyone have any game experience with the Hornady 117btsp?

Fantastic gun (I have a NULA/270)!

25/06 is a wonderful round for pretty much all that moves in NA.

Regarding the 117 Horn BTSP I've had accuracy challenges with it in most of the 25's I've used it in. My present 8 twist Brux will shoot it pretty good but not great but good enough for most all work
