Looking for suggestions on using hammer bullets In my 257 wby. Vanguard ll With stock 24" barrel. Any thoughts on which wreght or model of hammer bullet ,speeds to send it, which powders to try etc Would be used for w.T. deer under 5000' elevation. Thanks guys Tribb

It's going to depend on your bbl twist……I'm using 98 gr Shock Hammers in one of my 25-06s at 3375 fps and it's Devestating!

Look up the hammer hunter load data thread on here. Should give you a good idea where to start. If you have a standard twist barrel you will be limited to lighter bullets. I was able to hit 4000+ fps with my 257 Wby and 92HH last weekend when load testing with a couple different powders. Good luck!
