May Want To Stock Up On Reloading Components

You know that the powder makers and retailers don't set the prices, right?

We do. If we subscribe to this or any other "rush out and buy" statement, sure they will raise prices, but they only go up when we buy something at the higher price. If we don't buy, prices come down, even to where makers and retailers lose some money on sales! When we start losing venders, we will know we've held out too long!

I respectfully disagree. Read the picture on post one. It clearly states production costs are increasing. That's not caused by the consumer. Instead it's something getting passed on to the consumer.

It's not just ammo and components increasing after the first of the year. How about glass? I'm not aware of panic buying on binoculars and scopes. Yet, it has been made public knowledge those prices are going up as well.

When it comes to supply and demand in this case…Uncle Sam is sending a lot of stuff overseas right now. Further, I've seen articles saying we've depleted our military's supply and they're trying to replenish that concurrently. So in the big picture, there's your supply issue tacked onto the rising production costs caused by Bidenomics, the epa, globalism, etc.

Lastly, you have your smaller scale supply and demand horrors of price gouging. This seems to be happening more and more. It's not just ammo and components…I seem to remember toilet paper being a hot commodity not too long ago.

Personally, I think this conveniently works in the left's favor of destroying 2A. They know they can't remove all the guns in this country so they're trying a new approach. Make ammo too expensive to buy. Check out the new law in WA for further proof.

How much is the right quantity of inventory for you…?

There are always a lot of complaints on this forum about high prices. Which one is worse, current prices or "unobtainium"…?

Since Slick Willie was potus and that era I would buy powder and primers when they were on sale.
Some times it would hurt but not long, just ease back on one of the vices. Have small inventory now but don't think I'll run out soon. Just my 2c

I'm told should our country be invaded by hostiles, there are a bunch of long range shooters in the Eastern part of our country that can and will return fire. My friend shoots against them every year and he said a lot of the enemy will never make it west of the Mississippi!!!

Yes. I saw the same thing the other day, Thought I was going to throw up immediately!!

Just placed a pretty big order (big for me anyway). As long as I can foot the bill, I'm not going to suffer through another cycle of low personal inventory and not being able to get the stuff that I want or need. Plus, my son is 9 and will be 10 in a few months. He has hit the point that he likes to shoot.....A LOT!

I've purchased from them before, brass, bullets and powder.

Pertaining to the "don't even ask"…..maybe that means don waste our time debating HazMat fees. Just a guess!

I also got free shipping on my 8 pounder (I'm sure that it was built into the price) still had to pay the HazMat! memtb

I respectfully disagree. All costs are going up always. (So are salaries) That is business. What is new is telling (gaslighting) your customers in an effort to create quick demand and an acceptance buffer.

Screw them and the rest of these lazy companies….btw, I'm normally a huge Powder Valley fan. To any company: Go to your shop floor. Open your eyes. Talk to your employees. See the waste. Fix it. Make more money.

Don't confuse this with the other message the big consultants are pumping out. Theirs is more like: Reevaluate the cost of each of your current benefits. Reduce the cost of current benefits by adjusting the cost vs benefit ratio. For example, if we subsidize you lunch by $1…..just eliminate the subsidy and allow the lunch provider to deliver more expensive premium options. Find benefit providers with higher rejection of benefit rates.

Outsource as many HR functions as possible. Fire employees through policy enforcement with a weighting related to the salary and last evaluation of the employee. Basically fire your experienced employees that are not getting your highest ratings.


The reason they are trying to pass off higher prices is probably due to the softness perceived in the demand side of the market due to the union negotiation success as well as the rest of the salary market getting a bump.

Odd H1000 has just been reduced by ~$4 per lb by Powder Valley. I wonder why they are having a sale.
