6.5 Grendel is deadly!

If you look at the Grendel Horde forum, there is a thread with the bullets/loads matched with the game and success stories. Looks good for deer due to good BCs of bullets out to 300 yards.

i'm glad to see all this 65G porn. i just finished mine at christmas. currently narrowing down a scope for it. i'm thinking something in the 3-15 or 4-16. i have a BCA 20 inch barrel as well. i've only shot it once but it seems like it will be plenty accurate for me. i plan on taking a deer with it this year. i'll see if i can find a pic and post it up.

Haven't had a chance to hunt with mine yet, but it is a lot of fun to shoot. Just finished it 3 weeks ago and still need to order brass and dies.

Deadly schmedly, it's no more deadly than anything else in 6.5 maybe not as good. A couple dead deer don't mean much. Our Creedmoors do the same or more.

the creedmoor was at this point too at one time. Too bad that's not what people said about it back then. lol. Our 270s do the same or more.

I've found the Nosler ballistic tips to work well in mine. 100 or 120 grains behind leverevolution or cfe 223

Hey 76, got any pics of your AR15 in 6.5 creed ? I didnt think so......the grendel let's the little black rifle in on the 6.5 fun . I have an AR15 in 6.5 grendel I built last year. It's a fun little shooter with no recoil. In fact , I built another one for my new hunting partner, my 13 yr old daughter. She can shoot that thing too ! I broke the barrel in before I gave it to her for Christmas this past year. Her FIRST 5 shot group EVER with it or any gun measured under an inch at 100 yrds . She said recoil wasn't even noticed. Mine shoots in the .75 range with everything factory I've shot in it. Summer project for my daughter and me is to work up some good deer loads for next season. Plan to try the 120 gold dots and barnes 100 ttsx. I wish barnes would make the 100 with the same construction as the 127 lrx so it would expand at lower velocities. I'm gonna try those ttsx 100s in my 6.5 creedmoor bolt gun too.

Sorry don't do black guns. Just bolts.

I didnt either , till last year, when I started looking for something to shoot that wouldn't give me trouble with neck issues I have. Found out pretty quickly that the AR15 is capable of accuracy that I always thought belonged to the bolt gun alone. I am building a 6.5 creedmoor in a bolt action right now, mainly because the grendel is pretty limited on effective range. We have some pretty big fields to hunt here in my neck of the Ga woods. But because of the handy nature of the AR15, it will be my go to in places that offer short shots.

Understand, but I live in NY under Cuomo's " safe act ". He is the epitome of a DB!

That's a shame . People that have never stepped into the deer woods trying to tell sportsmen and women what constitutes a SPORTING weapon . I think every person that lives their whole life in a " coastal " big city should be required to spend 6 months in the real America , with people that live in real America before they have right to speak about firearms, period.
Sorry OP.....back to the fantastic 6.5 grendel
