Bolt Lug Grease

I wasn't sure what section to ask this question and I couldn't find anything with a Search.

Is there a preferred brand of grease to use on the Bolt Lugs and Cocking Ramp?

I use Gunslick Graphite Lube. It does well in extreme cold.

My gunsmith recommended Pro Shot Pro Gold. Got it from Brownells.

Any EP grease will work

any red gun grease, lightly applied should work fine.

The best I've used is not made for guns but for lathe centers, Center Saver.

I've tried several brands of bolt grease and they all work but this is the best I've found so far. Very tacky and sticks well to the lugs and ramps. Brownells carries it.

What color is the Lucas? Is it better than moly grease?

The Lucas is blue. I prefer it over the molybdenum disulfide grease.

I have about a half dozen tubes of G.N. Paste in a cigar box. That's about enough grease for six life times! This is a super high intensity grease with an extremely high graphite content. Not real great in zero weather as it gets a little stiff. You put it on very thin, and never worry again.

TW-25B works great on the bolt body as a lubricant to help the bolt cycle on actions with very little bolt bore clearance or on bolt bodies that have been Cerakoted. It's very thin with no graphite.
