Should I suport and spend my hard earned money on an Made in the USA scope and rifle that was made in Oregon, Idaho, California, Virginia, Montana, Oklahoma, Texas ect. ect. or should I spend money on an Asian made scope with an American name painetd all over it, and for that matter any gear with -made in China- with Ameriacn names painted all over them?? How much is it worth to buy Made in the USA?

All else being equal, "Made in America" justifies about a 20% premium with me. That's not much. I expect to get something in return for the 20% extra, like better materials, more/better options, faster delivery, stateside warranty service, etc.

I am cautious about buying any optics from China until I see evidence that the product is engineered well and the manufacturer uses good materials and has good quality control. If not, I will buy something else, regardless of the price difference.

Buy the best product for your hard earned money. One you have handled yourself and also a highly rated product by others. Dont blindly take another s word that "THIS" is the best possible ?? you can buy. It might be of the highest quality...but for you and yours...might not be worth a damm!

I am all for supporting US manufacturing as long as the quality is good and the price is reasonable... and I'll pay a little extra for US made products if the quality is good. But... in the world of optics, the best comes from Germany and Japan. That's just the way it is. If I could afford to put a NF on each of my rifles, I would, and they are mostly made in Japan and assembled here in Idaho. I buy scopes for quality, function and features. I have a couple of NF and a couple of Vortex and a Clearidge. The NF and Clearidge are stamped made in Japan and the Vortex are stamped made in the Philippines.

I would avoid anything made in China.

I try to get the best bang for the buck. If that comes from japan, russia, america, or india i dont care. No body can make the best everything. Its not un common for an american company to out source products and services and vise versa. This is how the free market works. If you buy a product from my shop it will be built using european machines and asian tooling. I dont see that being any different than buying japanese glass in an American scope. The end result has the highest priority on my list.

if theres a product of high quality ie leupold, burris, remington and ruger ect that make there products here they sure get to priority to me. Im probably a bit older then most here and am a veteran and know how fragile our economy is right now and know that when something is bought from an overseas manufacture it effects jobs of friends and family and in the big picture can come back and eventualy hit home here too. Im not going to sit up high on a pedestal and tell you i only buy american but i will say that i make an attempt to. Yes you can use the excuse that some of there components are made in japan or china but there still doing alot more toward keeping americans employed then a company like ziess, swarovski, nikon, brownging, howa, winchester ect. Now if i needed somethng that an american company just didnt make or make good enough id no doubt go that route but it wouldnt be that i needed it to impress people. An example might be a rifle that was shot competitively at a 1000 yards where hundredths of an inch made a differnce. Id have to bet though that the percentage of people buyig nightforce, swarovski ect sure dont have the skill to be able to capitalize on the small differnce in quality they bring to the table or even actually shoot a 1000 yards let alone competitively.

Being a Veteran I feel strongly about supporting American made products.

If there is a product that is made in the USA and has comparable quality over foreign products
the decision is easy, USA.

Some items are no longer made in America and the choice becomes whether I need it or not. In those cases most of the time I don't have to have it so I look for alternatives. You would be
surprised at what you can find if you look.

Buy supporting the American business, we can encourage more of them to stay open even in an unfair environment .

There is no doubt that some products that are mad in the USA are the best in the World(Like our
custom barrels) and sought after by foreign countries, Most of which ban or jack up the price on US
made products so there people Have to by products made in there countries. We have open markets and don't tax foreign countries out of existence. (Hence the unfair market).

It all boils down to personal choice so buy what you want but live with the consequences .
I for one will always buy American if at all possible.

The great thing about the US is we still have choices, and what we do with them choices are entirely up to us ... a freedom we all should enjoy and love.

I have a Toyota and Hondas in my driveway but I don't have any company.

Thats something i really like about toyota, though i dont own one i do like them opening factories on us soil, competing in nascar, and making substantial contributions in our economy. I think toyota automobiles are well built and mutually beneficial for us and japan. That said if you gave me an option of a yota or a ford. Im gonna buy a ford. Just my preference.
