7mm STW Brotherhood - For those who shoot the 7mm Shooting Times Westerner

Yeahhh..... theres nothing like the blast of a 50 bmg coming back through the muzzle brake to make them flinch & scramble for some goggles or something. Kinda makes yah chuckle inside. heh, heh, heh!!!! I'm glade I don't have to go to public ranges anymore and I pray I never have to go back to them.:D:D

Guys, I just picked up some supplies, RL25, 150 Ballistic tips, and I also picked up a box of Barnes LRX bullets in 145 grain. I have thought about this for a little bit, and I think these bullets are going to be the cats meow!!!! The BC is .486 which is pretty decent, and the performance is said to be like a bullet 10 grains heavier. Will let you all know how they shoot, as I intend on shooting some this weekend. Anyone here with any experience with the Barnes Bullets?
Take care to all!

I shoot barnes in 270 and 375h@h. They shoot reaaly well when they are happy. I'm talking sub moa with a loose scope on a 8#(scoped and loaded) remmy lightweight in 375. I usually try the tight scope thing, but it still shoots sub moa loose, so who am I to bitch about it.
The 270 is similar, with loads it likes shooting really well, both the 130 mrx and 130 tsxbt. Don't jamb them into the lands though. keep them back a bit so they don't pressure spike when they slam the rifling.

Lefty, these things shoot like a dream in nearly everything I have shot them in. Accuracy is no issue, I am looking for ( terminal performance testimonial ). Actually, I just found some under the title, LRX, in this same section. ( you commented there as well).
So far, I am happy with all that I have heard, and read. Butterbean smoked something last year, and he said he saw the blood trail instantly through the scope when he fired.
Derek M,also gave me some good words on them as well. I think I'm on the right path this time. I've shifted gears a few times, but now I'm onto a good thing. One month from now, I will know the answer. Man, I can't wait.

7stw let's us know how the Barnes lrx shoot, I too am looking at loading some of these for my 7mmstw. I just have so many vld's allready loaded I was waiting to shoot them up but from what I been hearing I may not be able to wait. Let us know please.

Ogle buck, to be totally honest, I am sure they are going to shoot just fine. In fact, I'm just going to load a few , and chrono them, and then I'll know what my speed is. I M expecting about what I got with the 140 TTSX, which is 3369 ave. With the BC being
.489, a 225 zero will hit anything out to 400 with a center mass hold.
Or, I can plot it with a ballistics program, and " Dial " it.
Either way, I am very confident with any of the Barnes bullets, and really happy about the potential of the LRX. They also make a 168 grain, but I'm only shooting whitetail. If I where to go on a elk, or big mule deer hunt, I might opt for the heavier pill. That's just my thinking.

Update:

Had the throat looked over by my smith and he confirmed the leade was boogered. He set her back and redid it with a new reamer. He even refinished the barrel, action and bottom metal.

The good news: Shoots .5 moa or less all day at 250 yards withe the 162 A-Max.

The bad news: The barrel is now only 24.5 inches.

The good news: At 77gr of 7828 she still chronos at 3220 and I think I like the balance.

I'll take it.
