What is your idea of a perfect lightweight carry hunting rifle.
Caliber? Weight? Action? Barrel maker? Length? Contour?
Stock? Trigger? Magizine? Mounts? Scope?

Or factory rifles?

1: 308 win or 6.5x284, 11#, Rem 700, Hart or Lilja barrel, 24-26", Sendero contour (fluted), McMillan HTG stock, Jewell trigger, Wyatts box magazine, Seekins 20MOA base, NF UL rings, Leupold Mark4 FIXED 10x.

2: 338 RUM or Edge 10.5#, Rem 700, Hart or Lilja or ABS, 28", Sendero contour, McMillan HTG stock, Jewell trigger, Wyatts box magazine, Seekins 20MOA base, NF UL rings, NXS 5.5-22x50.

It would have to be my Cooper 520 Signature, 6.5x284, #6(.75" at muzzle) fluted barrel, 26" with brake, tally 1 piece mts, 3 shot clip, Jackson Hunter stock. Huskemaw BD,5x20, Flatline level, Harris 9-13" bipod, weight 10.5#

My Savage LRH with the same, set- up and caliber coming in at the same weight is an alternative at much lower cost in a standard factory rifle.

Both rifle are effective to 1000 yards or a little more and deliver .25-.5 MOA 3 shot groups tested at 500 yards.

CZ 550 kevlar, 270win, Talley, Leupy 4.5x14. Cheap(cheaper than a custom anyway), tough, light, iron sights just in case, doesn't care what you feed it.

Mod 670 Win in .308
Aftermarket 18" 1:10 mil surp barrel
Hogue Overmold stock
trigger at 2.5#
Nikon Buckmaster 4.5-14x40 w/ warne detachable rings
Also have it set up to use a peep sight in heavy brush areas when shots have the potential to be short.

Around these parts (Piney woods and close target terrain)....

My favorite carry (firearm)....

Model 27 Smith & Wesson long barreled .44 magnum.

Don't need no rifle.

my Dakota 280 AI, Nesika Action, Sunny bottom metal, Lilja #4, 28" stainless fluted, tally rings/bases, McMillan Rem Sporter Stock Olive with black web, all metal coated in Faracoat matte stainless color Zeis Dav...tack driver!
gun)

Carry for what? My choices would range from a 10-22 to a CheyTac based rifle. What's on the menu?

From coyotes to elk. Mountains or prairie, lighter than 7 lbs without hardware. Groups 1/2". Out the window at a yote 250 running or from the sticks at a mule deer pushing 800.

Accurized Rem 700 AWR, Kevlar .300 win mag 2.5-10x45 leu lps, leu dvtail mnts, 180 part?

Bought it years ago and haven't seen much best it. 700 ADL custom shop mountain
rifle in 7stw. 3x12 swaro on top. The bare gun is 5.7 lbs. and holds 3/4 moa or better.
If only Mcmillan would build the stocks again.
