Kyle’s Trophy Buck

... and actually @snox801 , I deleted my post. The person in question has more than shown me he isn't worth my time. He'll either change, or not. I've done all I can do.

Some people would rather lose their souls than take responsibility.

You can do as you wish with your post. :)

I think it must be stated again. I'm am not for or against high fence. I'm indifferent.
My post were more about who cares.
Thanks for the clarification.
Obviously those that are negatively effected would care. Some of the things @TexasUplander said sound not good at all.

Those that are positively effected would care too, no doubt. Some of the things you mentioned with the disabled folks getting to hunt and the land owners being able to generate revenue. Clearly the ones engaged in that like it.

If I had 20 acres, and a deer trail comes through my property, and I get to sit out there for 6-days before I finally get an opportunity... and both neighbors on both sides put up high fences and "trap" the deer inside their property, so that none EVER come to mine again, that would be a pretty bad deal. This isn't theoretical... this happens to folks. There's at least a few states where it's illegal to do things like that, as a result of cases just like that.

I know I care if someone says shooting a penned animal is the same as shooting a wild animal. hehe

So anyway, it's not a non-issue. People should care, I think. Caring less is generally a worse option than caring more.

Thank God there is still enough freedom left, that people can choose to fence their OWN land, or not.
The way things are going, we need to cherish those freedoms we have left.
My dream is to buy and run my own farm.
I want to run it my way, not how someone else thinks that I should.

You better choose VERY carefully where you buy your land then.

In many states, you don't get to build high fence without providing game a way to enter/exit freely.

Aside from that, doing whatever you want with no regard to how it impacts others, is no way to live. I own a bunch of land. I wouldn't dream of doing things that might negatively affect the neighbors without getting them on board first.

I agree with this as just a courtesy. But in no way would I let it stop me. My land my rights. Problem with having others good or bad tell you what you can do is where does it end like with gun rights. What if everyone around you thought you should not hunt? Would you stop? If they don't want the fence offer to buy the land. Happens all the time. I want no part of a community that always what a mob or group can tell another person what to do with personal property.

I may not like it but they have the right. If something they do infringes on my rights we have a system for that. I for one would not met mine but I have one right next to me that is not used anymore but I'm trying to buy it to take down the fence.

You keep saying "we have a system for that". How many times have you used the system to find satisfaction? It's very easy for people to say "your land your rights" do whatever the hell makes you happy on it. So you buy a farm to hunt on and build your peaceful dream home. I buy the farm next door. I build a motocross track on my land and hold races every weekend. The land you bought now has no deer and very little value, and no peace to build your home on but you are just fine with it right? NO, you and the little lady that are all about private property rights would be scrambling to find a way to SHUT ME DOWN! You know it, she knows it, I know it, and everyone else on here knows it. You can pay your lip service, but when the chips are down, things change.

Some of what you say is very valid. It just doesn't ever work the way you're describing, however. Not unless you like hatfield & mccoy type situations developing.

Where does it stop indeed?

One way we could find out is, if you tell me where your property is... and I come buy every piece of property that borders it, and put up a fence that won't allow any animals to enter your land. (except maybe your driveway)

Unfortunately, our land isn't our personal property. Doubt me? Stop paying taxes and see how long you hold onto it. I once lived in an area where local criminals would drive out in the country and terrorize my family as well as others. Bullet holes in my chimney, constant revving of engines, constant shooting right in my yard, people coming from town to dump buckets of oil in the ditch. Endless trespassers. Locals were a bigger problem than the non-locals. The "system we have for that," did nothing.

Going to war with the endless stream of losers was not the answer. Moving to where God had greater blessings in store for me was the answer.

So to your point, I would say if I can't get along with my neighbors... I'll get better neighbors. My neighbors really enjoy my hunting activities. My methods and capabilities have become quite well known over the years.

None of this is meant to diminish your point however, in that we should be free to do as we please. Yet that freedom stops when you damage other people... and restricting the natural movement of Gods wildlife to suit your own ends often is, and has been, up for people to weigh in on. No one gets to build a trailer park without a permit, and no one gets to do much in the way of drastic modification to how our natural landscape functions without giving due respect to the various land owners in the area. The mechanisms you're fond of mentioning often work like that. Though they are often corrupt as well.

Obviously if someone is trying to stop you from hunting on your own land, and you're fully within your rights to do it... then they can go pound sand. Yet you'd be hard pressed to find a suitable analogy for high fences, other than high fences. Analogy's just don't seem to fit, because denying someone the right to legally hunt their own land is not the same as fencing in their land and permanently removing the ability of any animal to ever go across their land again.

Fact is, no one that doesn't want to be messed with, likes to be messed with. Not regarding anything. So you doing something on your land that pushes someone next to you on their land over the edge... might not be wise.

That's a lot to assume. First the system does work I've seen it work. But if it's not the outcome you want doesn't mean it's not correct. What if you bought the property and build your dream house on your land. Property next to you got mad cause it was his hunting land. Both 20 acre pieces.

Would you not build your house on your land? No you would. I did it's my land. Do I like the guy next to me running a Turkish bazaar or random **** in his yards. Nope but it's not my land and I'll buy it if it makes me mad.
How on earth can one person think they can dictate what other do on land they buy. Land next to me has every right to build a motor track if they want. Wouldn't have to like it but they have the right

You are correct in some aspects doesn't make my statements any less true. No situation has been given that would not be the right of the owner so far. I agree I don't go out of my way to cause issues but at the same time I can not live my life to please others. Sorry but I got all kinds of grief for logging my land specifically for wildlife at my old house from people next door. Also got it for building my dream house way back off the road. Sorry both instances before I started I informed them. Both could have easily bought the land before me or after it was offered.
We all still get along great and help each other even though one is a democrat. Lol

Fact is people hate change and things they can't control.
