Did Wipeout Products Ruin My Barrel?

Tried this:

Iosso paste with Free All mixture on a nylon brush 50 passes. No improvement.

Iosso paste with Free All mixture on new bronze brush. 60 passes. No improvement.

I bet if you put a few rounds down it and look again what you're seeing will no longer be there. A bullet is a pretty good abrasive. ;)

Bet it shoots just fine.
I'll take you up on that bet! If shooting 10-12rnds cleans it out, I'll pay you $1200. (Cost of barrel)

If it doesn't, you can send me $1200.

Deal?

I mean shooting test is easier than pouring that Napa carburetor varnish remover in it. Cause, you know, it's just powder fouling at this point, right?!

Tend to agree with this.

I'ld just choot'it!

FYI: You mentioned the goal of firing a 1st bullet on a clean dry bore.
Some very knowledgeable folks prefer to fire their first bullet on a lightly lubed bore, after a thorough bore cleaning. Kirby Allen and David Tubb being two of them. They'll run a low viscosity oiled patch through their bores after a thorough cleaning. They believe the lubed bore reduces bore abrasion and wear and tear compared to firing a 1st bullet on a squeaky clean, dry, non-lubed bore. After the 1st bullet fired, some carbon residue is deposited on the bore walls which helps reduce bullet abrasion on following shots. Just what I've read over the years...

Just don't load the bore with axle grease. Use a light coating of low viscosity lubricant.

Are you coating your bullets with Moly? I've never seen a barrel look like this. I would run JB Bore Shine through it and pray. Good luck!
I just did Iosso. I got some Bore shine dropped off to me, you think I should use that? I head the shine was a polish.

I'm not big on 1200.00 gambles, not sure I would shoot it.
I have never seen Isso or JB Bore paste harm a barrel but I have seen some nasty stuff come out of a barrel using those products
