My daughter is getting a 6mm Creedmoor with a falkor action, 6mm Creed proof barrel, TT Diamond, XLR magnesium chassis and a zeiss V4 6-24. I put these on all my guns as they have been great for me. I made the mistake of sending this gun off to a gunsmith instead of putting it together myself so I have been waiting 8 months and she won't get it for her 12th birthday in June.
My thought on going with a nice gun is it can be her forever gun. So hoping she sees it the same as I do. If not I will ask for it back as it's a nice rig.

For my boy who is left eyed I put a rem 700 in a mdt chassis and put a eotech on it for his moose hunt he was having a hard time with scopes. Turned out perfect for that he got nervous right before shooting and I was able to glance over and see exactly where he was aiming. Also we got the moose in quite close and that probably would have been a problem with a scope.
Now he's got a lot more trigger time but for right then it worked great.

I started my kids shooting a 22 lr to get the basics down. They graduated to a 223 rem and used that for "real" rifle results. We've killed plenty of deer with that rifle. Both kids have moved up to 6.5 creedmoors. Both have brakes. Both kids shoot them really well. Daughters is a kimber hunter I traded into with a 2.5-8 leupold on top for a total weight about 6.5 pounds. Easiy for her to maneuver. The boys gun is a new Ruger american with a leupold 3x9 on top. He is generally less interested and I had that gun in hand to actually re-sell and he took a liking to it. Gun fit is Uber important. I had to really built the stocknon my daughters guns when she was younger, to get her eye lined up with the scope. My boy wasn't as dramatic, but still necessary. Their 223s had youth stocks on them until they grew a bit. Currently my daughter is 16 and has taken over 20 deer in 6 seasons. Boy is 14 and has taken 5 deer in two seasons. My daughter has sat on her own a few times the last 2 seasons and taken deer alone. Thats pretty rewarding. My boy still needs some coaching.

It's crazy how nice "starter rifles" are now days. I first hunted with a borrowed 32 Special lever rifle with open sights.

Well maybe a little lol I have been wanting a 6mm but just never had a practical use for it besides paper punching. The way I figure is spoil her now with hunting and make sure she knows when she gets a man in 30 years lol he needs to take over.

Sig cross , I've purchased two of them in 308 and shortly after I found them a new home.. When in doubt, do the research..saves you money and time dealing with recalls.
Kicks like a mule! 32 special Marlin 336. Was my first hunting rifle for deer @ 12 years old. I still don't shoot it.
First rile to start shooting at (5) years old was a 22lr.

I would get her a .223 which she can shoot a lot with fairly inexpensive ammo. If she continues to like shooting then go with a .243 or another 6mm. Don't spend high $$$ for first rifle in case she loses interest.

It's funny when you say that about spoiling her now. When I met my wife the pistol that she shot was an HK USP 45 which we still have and she still shoots better than I do. Next she went to a gun show with her dad came back and told me she wanted a Benelli super sport and she didn't shoot shotguns. I should have taken the hint then she's cost me a lot but I couldn't imagine life without her. I could imagine it with more money in my pocket though.
