I just bought a 28 Nosler ...

I guess I meant at the range or practicing , the shots I take at game , a little blowback will be ok .
I'm just saying that there's a better way than debris in your eyes but it sounds like you've already decided on what you want. Good luck with the new rifle!

I worked up some RL33 loads for one of my 28N on a young barrel in cool weather, in SE TX that is 70ish. They were full on getter loads, Nosler brass was loosening primer pockets in 3-4 loadings. At 100-105 degrees there was little to no change, couldn't find it on the target at all. At 45-50 degrees dope was dead on at 1046 yards. I haven't chrono'd these loads in various conditions but they shoot spot on over 50-60 degrees for me. That young barrel eventually sped up and these got overly warm and pulled down but shooting didn't show any real issue from 100 to over 1000.

Well I listened to you guys and picked this stuff from Drifters Gear . He is about 20 minutes from me and such a great guy .
Also , I'm looking at a straight port brake .
Now if the rifle would just show up . I tried a new place , for me anyway , Firearms Depot -https://firearmsdepot.com/ , anybody used this place ?

Hey guys , a little more help please . I have been playing with the load on the gun , starting with the 570 and 175 eldx's , which was ok , but not great . Granted it was a new barrel .
I found some 160 partitions and tried them with the RL 25 I have , and 79 grains of powder seems to work the best . Using my Hornady tool my OAL is at 3.476 which is .016 off the lands and 3030 average MV .
Now , this is just going to be a hunting rifle , so when do I say enough ?
I was surprised at how just a little difference in the powder made it shoot erratically , but this is my best group at 100 and I pulled the first shot .

I think you're just fine, with your new load for hunting. That is a heck of a good bullet and out of the 28 it should hammer. .2-.6 moa is great if your shooting 1000 yards but the honest likely hood of that in a hunting situation isn't exactly realistic. I believe 99% of the time you can typically close the gap significantly.
Eld bullets in my experience typically like to be loaded closer to the lands, seating depth is a bit more touchy with Eld, Bergers, Accubond's ext. flat based bullets such as the partition like jump. You have to ask yourself what is good enough. But the reality is you can have a rifle that shoots 3 in groups and still kill game effectively to 400 yards. It might not be pin point but dead is dead. Depending on what you want out of your rifle is up to you, if you want to still shoot the ELD switch powder, or the primer, amazing how a primer change can make or break a load, same with powder l. Or run a heavy bullet weight. The 28 is a screamer even with 195s so velocity isn't an issue with that rifle.
If you're shooting new brass your current load may tighten up on second fired brass. Measure your neck tension, and check the consistency of coal of your loads. Good luck

Thank You !
Third time loading this brass but I aneal it every time . I suck at keeping good records of my loads and load for 7mm RM , .280 AI and the 28 N so it overwhelms me a little , the amount of data .
I can't find the N570 anymore but have 8 lbs of the RL25 so I'd like to stay with that . Kinda just want to one and done it , you know pick a bullet and stay with that load . Worried about the barrel life , a little . I have ELDX's in 150 , 162 , 175 and 180 , but thought these Partitions would be a better hunting bullet ? Do you agree ?
I would say my extreme distance would be 500 yards or less . I hope to get onto a 500 yard range tuesday and if the Partitions work well at that range I'll stay with them , probably .
Thanks for taking the time to reply , I will take all the help I can get .

Thank you , and everyone else . I've ordered ADG brass and have GM215M primers and 180 ELDX's and am in the process of getting a TI Beast 5 port from MBM .
My guy has N570 and US869 , Hornady shows US869 as the best FPS load . But he only has it in 8 lbs jugs . I have a bunch of RL25 , might try that first , what do you think ?
We have brass, break in loads and loaded ammo available. Site sponsor as well.

It's a Savage Ultra Light with the Proof Carbon wrapped barrel , just a hunting gun . I'm new to this caliber , but it seemed to check off a lot of boxes .
I have a Nikon Black FX1000 scope , but thinking maybe it needs a lighter scope . I also have an Accupoint 4x16 . I ordered ADT brass and RCBS dies , and have several different bullets . I'm thinking ELDX 180 to start with ? I have VLD 168's and Partition 160's , and ELDX 162's and 150's with RL25 and 19 , plus H4831SC . Of course I'll start low and work up , off several loading charts .
Anybody have any input on what might work bet ? Just trying to get a head of the game , I'm sure someone has this all figured out already .
Oh , and it's a 1 in 8.4 twist .
Oh part deux , it didn't come with a brake , what would you get for a brake ?
Thanks for any and all input .
I think you will like it, but recoil is going to be significant without a brake or suppressor. Mine loves N570 and 195 VLD's, they run a little north of 3000 fps with the load I settled on, and it is no problem banging steel at 1000 yards if there's no wind. Where we shoot there's all kinds of terrain variations and wind where we shoot from may be exact opposite at the target, makes for some interesting dope. I've never played golf, but I'm thinking it might be similar lol.
