Hornady 7mm 180 eld-m terminal performance (pics)

Here's another I took last year with the 180 eld-m. Shot was around 80-100 yards on a hard quarter to me shot. Went down like a ton of bricks and snow plowed for 10 yards and was done. This time I had switch to ADG brass and got my velocity up to 3056 fps.

Entry side shoulder once again shattered.

The bullet ended up back in the gut bag somewhere so I wasn't able to retrieve it. So far though it's a narly bullet.
Mule deer?

But, but, but they say match bullets at high velocity short range on bone is bad... 🙄🙄

The 180 is a nasty bullet.

Nice work. I have not visited this forum for a very long time, dropped by a few minutes ago to see whats been happening and saw your ELD-M post, perhaps my ears were burning.

Certainly good to have a projectile that works under a variety of conditions and as you have probably already seen, it can produce excellent accuracy in the Rem factory barrels. Anyway, just dropped in to say hi. I am sure you will have many happy memories of this hunt.

Nathan.
Thanks for all the work you do. Your work prompted me to give it a whirl. Terminal ballistics has always been fascinating to me. The BC for me has worked out to .395 g7 in summer temps. Good all around bullet so far from what I'm seeing.
I agree and sure would like to see him here more often.

Thanks for posting. I been researching the 162 gr m. I am looking for a bullet to shoot out of my new 280AI rifle. I looking at this one. A 166 gr A Tip. And a berger 175 gr elite hunter .

Just 2 so far. But I've shot many with the eld-m in general in 6.5 and I've shot a few with the 162 eld-m out of the 7mm
I just picked up a box to try on my 7MM SAUM.
