Well boys got scammed on gunbroker(possibly resolved)

So two days ago my desperation for reloader 19 for the best of me and I bought a pound on gun broker from a guy with 1 a plus review , didn't think for a second he would be a scammer it says verified seller and everything and had multiple listings . So when I contacted him to make payment I proceed to tell him if he has anymore rl19 come available I'll buy more gladly. he said he had 3 more pounds if I wanted them so of course me being me and as bad I need it I said sure thing so I made payment , as soon as payment was made all communication has stopped I can't get a response ! So I finally found a phone number on his gunbroker profile and sent message , the phone owner said that one of his friends sold the powder with his account and he had to get in touch with him for tracking !! Needless to say it's def a scam and I'm out a little over 300 bucks ! The username is fatboi1919. Buyers beware !
You should file a fraud charge through gunbroker !

I have set a lot of things in motion , I'm going to get either refund or the product come he** or high water that's a fact . It's looking like it's going to be Monday morning before I can start to see results since it's a holiday weekend but I am going to keep you guys posted to see how this plays out !

I was close to being an inaugural member of gunbroker, they seem to run a tight ship, or did. Sorry this happened and I am surprised.
I have been buying off the web since 98 or so and had never been scammed, till this fall, by mistake(sounding like a thief, lol) I paid paypal goods by mistake and had to cover fees. Apparently I get foul mouthed when someone is eating cheeseburgers on my dime and not ordering the product I wanted, so I was blocked on all forms of communications. Simple claim with PP and I got a refund.
Good luck OP!!

I just purchased 50 new 28 Nosler brass and paid you them. An hour later the guy said that he was out of stock and that he refunded my credit card. I'll know if that happens in a couple of days but you don't post an auction with no stock.
I reported the guy and left him a bad review.

Ok, I am not an attorney but I retired as DirHSE for a global company and dealt with Dangerous Goods in transportation at times. My comments are just that an opinion, take it as such.

No individual is likely to have the required Insurance, documented HAZMAT training, financial resources and so on to ship primers or smokeless gun powder.

So what? Remember ValuJet crash in Everglades 20 years ago? Improper HAZMAT shipment caused it. People went to jail for it. Plus horrible tragedy for families.

IMO, If the shipper ships FOB to you, the entire LIABILITY of the shipment MAY be transferred to the buyer depending upon the wording. Furthermore you still MIGHT be drawn in if you knew or should have known it was shipped improperly. Again I am not an attorney but if shipping HAZMAT and an incident were to occur typically draws in both shipper and receiver (buyer) if the shipper has insufficient resources. Its called cradle to grave as well. NO HAZMAT cost in the posting and general shipping by FedEx seems to indicate no Hazmat is being considered. Duh, Billy Bob in CA come to mind?

These morons need to be shut down NOW before something horrible happens and our means to obtain powder and primers from legit sources is shut down as excuse by Lets Go Brandon.

I would bet Gunbroker disclaimer prob means squat to DOT prosecutor.

I don't buy anything off gun broker, most of them people are shipping illegally anyway.
I have shipped several firearms and accessories I sold on GunBroker. Would you explain shipping illegally?

I agree with you there are people doing things the wrong way when it comes to shipping but I have also bought a lot of primers from individuals and paid for proper hazmat shipping , there are legal ways for an individual to ship hazmat but your right most people are not doing it right , I am an FFl I have an account with ups and fed ex they typically work with me and ship whatever I need to ship and make sure I stay legal ! Now I might pay out the a** for it but it's legal lol

Was there a crazy storm in cali around la yesterday and the day before for any of you guys that's in cali ? Just heard back from seller and was told there was a bad storm and couldn't drive to the fed ex hub !

I went to the VA for the same thing, and they gave me a prescription for Viagra (no disability). Ever since then Jill say's my hearing is fine and never got any disability. Just need to know how to get paid for Tinnitus like you and I'll be set.

I initially received a 30% settlement for PTSD from the VA. Was referred to an enrolled advocate…went up to 60% for PTSD, 10% for tinnitus and 30% as individually unemployable for injuries suffered in a gunfight as a cop. His %age was10% of my back pay. Better to lose 10% of something than 0% of nothing. VFW didn't do squat for me.
