Well folks, today I shot 150 rds of 7mm mag out of rem 7 mm mag 24 inch bb.. nobody cares what I noticed but the hell I ll share it. I load coal at 3.350 and didnt like it, it loves 3.330 -3.333, bullet chosen 150gr accubond. At 68.5 gr rl25. @100yds .418, 5 shot groups. .

whats interesting is I had a box of remington 175 gr corlokt 16 yr ammo. At it gave @100yds .122 5 shot group..

please explain how the hell I acquired such fantastic groups with factory old ammo ???

Typically factories are a bit lacking in the accuracy department, but not always. My dad's old bdl in 300 win ate Pmc 150 grain factories to cloverleafs. The fed factory ammo can usually be counted on to do moa. My brother's load for his 280 is a mimic of the winchester 140 grain bst load which kept him from trading a finicky rifle. I don't shoot much factory but my 405 is accurate (relatively speaking considering buckhorn sights) with the 300 gr flatpoint hornady load so I have 150 or so of those around for that rifle.
On the other side is my 25 wssm and 300 win, whom have both shown to be better than 2 moa rifles with the factories I've gotten for them.
It's a crapshoot with factories and you are limited on bullet choices. You also can't customise seating depth or any of the other variables that sometimes make a rifle like its ammo better. That said, sometimes things still just work out that the factory got it right for your rifle.

I had a model 70 Winchester classic in 300wm that wouldn't shoot anything very well. I tried 180gr core-lock's and it shot awesome. That always bothered me so I ended up selling the gun; it just didn't seem right. Sometimes you just get luck and it works.

Just got lucky. The powder that the factory used and the bullet weight and seating depth just so happened to provide the best barrel harmonics and consistency your rifle likes. You could always chrony the factory loads and try and match velocities with your hand loads to see if that will tighten things up a bit.
