Well boys got scammed on gunbroker(possibly resolved)

So two days ago my desperation for reloader 19 for the best of me and I bought a pound on gun broker from a guy with 1 a plus review , didn't think for a second he would be a scammer it says verified seller and everything and had multiple listings . So when I contacted him to make payment I proceed to tell him if he has anymore rl19 come available I'll buy more gladly. he said he had 3 more pounds if I wanted them so of course me being me and as bad I need it I said sure thing so I made payment , as soon as payment was made all communication has stopped I can't get a response ! So I finally found a phone number on his gunbroker profile and sent message , the phone owner said that one of his friends sold the powder with his account and he had to get in touch with him for tracking !! Needless to say it's def a scam and I'm out a little over 300 bucks !

I knew Gun Broker was full of price-gouging scum bags selling reloading supplies. Now there are thieves too. Is there no recourse through gunbroker? I've only bought and sold a couple guns through them and all were good buyers or sellers.

That's another thing he charged me quite a bit for hazmat shipping which is the only reason I believed it to be actually legitimate!

Can you dispute the purchase with gun broker or your bank? Theres got to be some recourse.

Oh no doubt I am in that process as we speak and I will go to the end of the earth to bring him down and make sure he don't get another one . I have contacted gun broker this morning , I could only hope they would ban him after this !

Got burned on a $30 recoil pad. Pic showed a Limbsaver package, but I received a rock hard chunk of rubber from who knows what. Disputed but with no results.. I haven't even looked at Gunbroker since and never will again.

I have made deals using GB 2X, a $450 handgun & a $210 scope, from different sellers. Both times I checked out the seller's web site to see an actual business address and telephone number, then looked up business in incorporated list using state's secretary of state site then final verification. After reviewing all info I made purchase using a credit card. No problems - both businesses had been trading on-line for years. The handgun was delivered to my LGS & the scope appeared UPS. Using a credit card provides some protection as charges may be disputed & if fraud VISA or MC might take action on fraud business. I never ever buy stuff using bank info.

You have a phone number and hopefully a name. that's a good start. Hopefully the friend will make him make it right. Maybe contact the authorities with the information you have.

You are not alone and I'm sorry to hear you were ripped off. No judgement from me as it happens. Every time it goes sideways for me is when my emotions were way too involved. I try to turn into a robot and cut every emotion out of my decision to spend money or not to spend money. Some say...I have a black heart and no emotion if that is a tell at all.
