Hammer bullet concern

I guess it is how one looks at it. If I were going to load for the Hammers but didnt have information about reloading for them, I would go to the reloading section to find threads on it. For me, If I wanted terminal results on hammer bullets, I would go to the rifle, bullets, barrels and ballistics forum.

do you think that our whole reloading group needs to be updated every time someone tries new primer with and absolute , hammer , jacks , shocks , or claw

or could it be categorized a little more efficiently until ......

but all the reloading data is about is that specific bullet , not the reloading process ( that bullet being the main topic ) .. belongs in the bullet section ... yes i agree this "hammer bullet concern: belongs there too ..

i mean look at the shock hammer thread , that guy realized where that thread belongs
If you look at the data it's all in there Charge weight, Neck interference, Crimp setting and so on, if you referring to how they found that load thats simple as well, pick the powder you want to use, work up to pressure and back off a grain, if your chosen powder is too slow move to a faster powder and repeat, Really, it's that easy

Thanks for keeping us all inside the box. We do want to use the forum appropriately. But lets cut everybody some slack so we can all enjoy it. A lot of these threads are sort of hybrid classifications and can fit as well in one section as the other. If there's a concern about classification, feel free to PM the OP'er. For myself, I find it hard to understand the sensitivity about honest reloaders discussing the new big thing they are all working at figuring out and testing - Hammers in this case. A lot of guys like them. Is that not ok? Welcome to join the fun. No need to be on the outside. ;) If there's a real and objective problem with the Hammers, we all want to hear about it fair and square. Enough of us have had extensive experience with the Hammers ourselves to know something didn't smell right with the negative vid this thread started about.

You do realize that doesn't make any sense right? If the thread was talking about the absolutes and what they are and their performance on game and BC then I would say move it. The issue is that thread already exists in the "Rifle, Bullets Barrels & Ballistics" section.

The Absolute Hammer Load Data thread was specifically spun off of that to the reloading section so that people didn't have to wade through 97 pages of discussion to find some data. The entire thread is people posting their bullet, cartridge, case brand, primers, load data, and velocity numbers for people to review while GLTaylor acts as the scribe for all of us ballistic misfits throwing numbers at him. He then presents it in a clear and continuously updated document on the first page as a sort of unofficial Absolute Hammer load book. (Hats off to him)

To say that collection of load data doesn't belong in the Reloading section because it is only about one type of bullet literally makes no sense. Would you prefer we break it all out and a have several hundred threads each asking about one bullet in one cartridge like we do with Berger, Hornady, Sierra, Nosler and Barnes instead of all of it in a single thread?

Its really like cable TV, if you don't like what's on, change the channel. If a thread TRULY belongs somewhere else because it us a really BIG problem being in wrong section, I am sure LRH Admin or even Len will move it.

Sounds like a Facebook discussion.🤮

we only have one reloading channel here, same repeating commercial ...

Dusty Noggin....You went from "Doesnt need to be in the reloading forum" to "Does it need to be updated everytime someone finds a load". You are reaching man. Just dont click on the thread to read it. Scroll down and read what you want.

what ?? that was a question to you , do you korhil78 think that our whole reloading group needs to be updated every time someone tries new primer with and absolute , hammer , jacks , shocks , or claw

i get the scroll and read what you want , ive been doing it for years ... just like all of you have .

in not reaching, as much as all the hammer guys are out numbering my opinion in our forum

I myself would just private message GLTaylor with my reload info so that he could update the spreadsheet that he has on that thread. But I am not everyone. Also, it doesn't bother me one bit that they update it on that thread. If I don't want to look at it, I just don't click on it.

I have some 152 gr Hammer Hunters for my 308 coming and will be here soon. Also some .224 52 gr Hammer Hunters.I trust people on this forum more that that guy.
This guy didn't change my mind.Any bullet ever made can fail under the right conditions.
In 1974 I shot a cow elk at 388 yards broadside, aimed at shoulder crease and the 180 gr Nosler Partition ended up in her neck, dead as a door knob!
Muscle close to a major bone is denser than meat away from bone and that can make a difference. If the animal was moving could influence a bullet to take a different path, also if you hit a rib or any other bone could influence a bullets path.
I still have Partitions on hand so it did not matter to me that 1 on 38 elk did not have a straight exit.
Still a Hammer fan!

Being that there is no published data anywhere for these bullets, The answer is a most definite YES

Im pretty sure him updating the document would also bring it back to the top so it's really 6 in one half dozen in the other.
