Everyone needs to see this

We all can drop a few grand on a rifle or scope and not flinch, but how many of y'all honestly keep a real IFAK in your range bag? The guy in the video already had his hand inside his own throat before he was aware of what was going on so might not have done him much good, but still, it's something every shooter should acquire and get trained on.

No joke! The guy that makes the rifle said it only takes 85k psi for that cap to shear the threads, that is in no way even close to a reasonable safety factor. Glad Scott is ok!
Yes I agree. Threads shouldn't be relied on for that high of chamber pressure. A Remington 700 can hold up to 100K+ PSI and they aren't designed for 50cals haha. I'm glad he's okay too. Very very scary.

No way in the world I would have made it to the truck, much less to the hospital. I just can't imagine being able to stay awake and with it long enough to survive that. My stomach is still in knots.

I saw this yesterday and still having chills. I'm not sure what kind of trailer park meth lab fueled contraption he had......but it looked sketchy from the get go.

This is what it means when someone says an action is marginal for a particular cartridge. It may work a bunch of times just fine........

Applies to conversations beyond .50 BMG.

His thumb in his neck the whole ride to the hospital is the only thing that kept him alive according to what doctors told him. That was from a statement he put out after the incident.

completely agree on the trauma kit.

Although I'm guilty of this myself, you should NEVER shoot alone.

A benchrest shooter that I met at a few shooting clubs appeared one day with a crazy mirror contraption on his rifle and a pirates patch over his eye. He told me that he used a brass rod to tap a stuck case from the chamber and totally forget to remove it before he settled in for the next shot. The gun blew out right into his face. He sustained serious injuries including the loss of his eye. He was ALONE at the club at the time and, according to him, it was noting short of a miracle that he was able to get away from the range and find help.

Helpful tip - with an IPHONE, if you hit the power button 5x in a row, or hold the power button and a volume button at the same time, the phone will dial 911 even if its locked.
