Thoughts on when the heck components will be back?

Just a quick note- Midway sent me an alert at 9:07a.m. MST that CCI large rifle primers were in stock. It was $56 for 1,000 (or something like that) not including shipping. Didn't need them, so passed. They were out within minutes.
I'd love to get that many, I'm new to reloading, and have no supplies, and know better than to pay these premiums

I will see what I can find for you. Here is another tidbit to consider. As a shipper if Hazmat you are liable for All damages incurred due to improper shipping; financial, civil and even criminal. Is that a risk worth a couple bucks?

Can you document maybe even a single truck fire caused by primers or powder? If there are no problems, there are no "damages incurred due to improper shipping; financial, civil and even criminal."

It appears to me you are trying to justify a cheap ploy to "scalp" us for an unnecessary fee.

Again, what trucks experienced fires from primers or powder?

How am I trying to justify anything? I am simply pointing out that the majority of the scalpers are shipping illegally. I may or may not agree with the law but that doesn't mean what they are doing isn't still illegal.

I know a pick-up truck loaded with moonshine exploded on I-81 near my old home about 15-20 years ago.

Why is this relevant? Because when we drank enough corn 'licker you was 'primed boy!!'

The best thing every single one of us could do is to stop buying powder, primers and bullets at these ridiculously high prices. The scalpers would loose their a*sses, as when demand drops, prices drop. The same holds true for lumber and other commodities. This buy and hoard culture today needs to stop, as the buyer causes the problem. We need to suck it up and stop contributing to the problem in order for prices to return to descent levels.

Something that chaps me is them doing it to equipment. Just try and buy ANYTHING from Dillon. I need some parts for my 650. 6wk LT. They have everything I need on Ebay and Gunbroker for 3-5X what Dillon charges. I am stubborn and I'll wait. I hope they have to learn how to load or choke on the stuff. Its right at the start of competition season and they think folks will pay the ransom. I won't.

Earlier you suggested the haz mat fee prevented primers and powder from causing fires. I have asked, where is the documentation?

One thing the Hazmat fees do do is give the Feds a record of who is buying powder and primers. They are very good at intel and just love making lists. Mostly because they have way too many employees.

Does anyone know the civil penalties for illegally shipping hazmat? Well I'll show you!

PENALTIES PER VIOLATION 107.329

CIVIL MAXIMUM- $79,976.00**
CRIMINAL* INDIVIDUAL-$250,000.00
CORPORATION-$500,000.00

(Levels of fine from 18 U.S.C. and includes provision for imprisonment for not more than 5 years.)

Although the Federal Government is exempt from the penalty provisions, (See definition of "person" on page 26 of this H.O.) employees of the federal government are not exempt under the HMTA.

See what happens when the Feds don't get their money? AND their lists?

The best way to always buy components is from a group buy at your local gun club. Most of them have some sort of FFL and can buy wholesale. Ours doesn't charge any profit if you pay up front and help unload the truck. Another of the 1000 reasons that everyone on this site should belong to one. This is the first year we haven't done a truckload in a long time. The distributor has nothing in stock. We usually do a couple of truckloads a season.

So, you can't come up with even a single incident where primers or powder caused a truck fire?

Orange Dust hit the nail on the head!
