This is CRAZY...

Midway even hiked price up. Not to that extend, but enough. Berger's were $58-62 one week, $72-80 the next.
Inflation was 7-12% in 2020, depending on how you calculate it, and estimates for 2021 are in the 15%+ range... depending on who you ask.

You should expect literally every product and every service to increase in price dramatically this year and into next.

And with minimum wage jumping to whatever all the geniuses want it's only going to get worse. The jack leg at the one shop here local was selling federal 215 primers at 500 a thousand a month ago he's probably jacked up prices since then. I don't look for this getting any better in the next 3-4 years . God I hope I'm wrong!!

These jerks had 156 bergers listed for a good price and posted it here for others. Everyone i know that bought them had their orders canceled today....
I have bought a great many things from gun broker sellers and check for certain items 3-5x a week and can not believe the prices of some items.
Last two HG's I bought there in the last few months were both at very good prices last most recent one, I had some delay of delivery issues with the seller and I was certain he was going to cancel the sale but he didn't.
BUT he had the same exact HG FS the very next day for $200 more than I paid which amounts to a 37% increase in price in less than 24hrs.
EVERY day I thank God I had bought what i bought when I bought it.
My friends who shoot a a lot most now admit the wished they had listened to me when I said stock up and stock up BIG TIME over the last 5-6 years and NO BS literally none did.
If I told them once I told them 10x.

Like to add over the summer I accidently bought NATO 7.62 LRG RFL primers and promptly tried to sell them on line but locally F2F PU only with no luck for a long time. Now I am getting constant PM's at that site with people wanting to buy them even long after I eliminated the add, but as I have several calibers that use LG/RFL non mag primers I am going to keep them.

If people will vote with their wallets and just not buy some of this craziness will at least slow.

I know it's hard when a guy doesn't have ammo but I plan to fish more this next year... let them choke on it. Both the retail gougers and the people who are hoarding to try flipping components for profit. My sentiments at least.

I did the same, a lot of us who remember the 2012 disaster.... i bought more ammo than i care to admit, just wish i would have stocked up a little more on reloading supplies. I have some buddies that literally have a box or 2 of ammo at this point of guns that they regularly shoot. Its kinda funny considering they went through the last shortage as well.

Very VERY good advice here.

We should embrace their right to price their products how they see fit, but we should avoid paying more than we are comfortable with... and the problem will sort itself out quite handily.

My local reloading supplier had CCI small rifle primers for $95/1000. I thought they were gouging. The owner said he buys from any wholesaler that has something and at much higher costs. Buying direct from the manufacturer is almost impossible for a small shop. I understand he can't sell components at last year's prices, he'd be out of business in a week.

Got a local guy that wanted $99 a thousand for primers 4-5 mths ago. Now I hear he ll only sell primers and bullets together... 1 for 1. This shop is notorious for gouging all the time and twice as bad when he's got you in a hard spot. He preys on folks who haven't planned ahead. Sad.

Needless to say I don't support him regardless of the times... but he stays in business by taking advantage of folks.
