Nope! At only 59 ft/ lbs. recoil......insufficient recoil to dictate a brake/suppressor. Don't want the additional weight or barrel length on my hunting rifle!

For extended shooting sessions (lots of shots fired) a brake on a fairly high recoil rifle should certainly be considered. For a hunting rifle, where extended shooting sessions are not on the agenda, unnecessary unless you are a **** poor shot..... absolutely not! memtb

A brake on target gun, at the range, is fine (as long as I'm not at the next bench over.) On a hunting rifle? Not so much. TOO LOUD! (WHAT? TWO COWS?) Seriously, brakes are obnoxious. Suppressors are the way to go. I just wish they were as easy to acquire & use. Order of preference:
1) Suppressed
2) Nothing attached to barrel
3) Muzzlebrake

I hunt about 50-60% of the time with a braked rifle. I tell you what it's maddening sometimes and handy others. Just have to remember ear protection. I forgot them one day when I shot a dear with my win mag and 215's at 2900 fps and boy did it boot and I **** near feel to the ground from the blast to the ears. Didn't even cross my mind as it was my first time hunting with a brake. Now I have a set in my range back and a set with my hunting **** so I won't forget. It's handy cause you can spot your shots easier, track better for follow ups if needed.

I almost always use a brake hunting especially when I'm solo. The ability to spot your shot when you are alone is paramount. Whether you missed or the shot wasn't perfectly placed, I want to know that and make a quick correction. Using a brake has never been about the recoil when hunting, as I don't seem to notice when taking a shot at an animal.
