Is Tangent Theta worth the $ over NF?

This thread is getting beyond silly. Yes NF are great scopes, but as an overall package the ATACR is not the equivalent of the TT. Neither glass, fit and finish nor turrets. I've shot them side by side. Is it worth THAT much more than the the NF? That's up to you. But it will ALWAYS be worth much more in resale than the NF will ever be. It is a better scope period. And if you're strictly an MOA person that does mostly hunting, then there are probably better choices than these anyway.

In what universe that statement is true? LOL I mean no offence. Whoever says something like that clearly never owned a Mercedes. I love the fact that I can get a heated massage while driving and I don't move sideways when the car changes directions because of the "wings" in the seat that move with the direction and speed of the car to keep me in the same spot every time to get the best massage a car can offer. After a 10hr drive, I'm fresh as a baby.

Anyhow, I cant offer a fair comparison because I never hunted with TT but I did shot at the range with it. It is by far the best glass that I've to look through (never owned a Swarovski). Is it worth it twice as much? For me yes, if I get and an extra ~10% advantage I will pay the premium.
At the end of the day, one's opinion is heavily based on affordability. I usually don't buy premium products based on feedback from forums or reviews online.

I really don't buy in to most I read on products, someone always has something to gain or prove. My KIA will do everything your Mercedes will.
Do yourself a favor though, search the web for reviews of the TT, then NF. I know what you will find.
I myself shy away from top tier glass, only because I know all my upper mid pack scopes would need to be replaced.

One of the most sent back optics out there because of not holding zero, you have to run them on a scope checker in live fire to make sure you have one that will hold zero and even then you have to keep checking them.

Could you share your statistics and your source for them ? (asking for a friend who owns one)

Milo-2, I know what you are saying. But, I did regrettably, sadly finally sell my Kia, replaced it with a Mercedes. Got tired of having to stop and remove the sexy women off the Kia....it was such a chick magnet.

Most traces of the testing everyone was doing and the sending back of optics and the threads of results have been tracked down and removed so the information is mostly in the groups of individuals who actually did the testing. I think there is a copy of one of the tests still out there I'll have to track it down again. I had optics in one of the tests but not NF and mine held after the first round the NF Comp would walk around every shot.

I'm looking at different scope options for my new build, 25 SST. I'll be using it for hunting and practice out to around 1500 yds. I'm waiting on the XLR and CarbonSix barrel so I have a couple of months to decide. I was going with a NF ATACR, but TT has gotten my attention.

For those who have used both, do you feel the TT is worth almost twice the price of NF? I don't mind paying the premium price, assuming the product is also premium. Thanks for any input.

My 2 cents, have most of the optics mentionred here plus the close association of meny shoots and personal friendship with all the principles at benchmark. Thats a LOT OF experience. All the top names have gr8 products and good glass . I have so many guns i have decided to get the best bang for my $. Nf is very nice, i have 3, i just dont believe they are superoor tp leupold mk seies scopes at way mpr money. And the mk's are so dang tough! Sb ender i sold because i just didnt like it, but glass wss superb. Leica. Superb glass. Kahlrs likewise and vortex razors. Zeiss, esp on a hunting rifle is fantastic, high end and conquest line. I have conquest on 3 hunting rifles. One about 20 years now And i have never touched zero, and it has been to africa 22 times, as well as hunting in us and csnada every year. Sounds like money doesnt count for much inThis case. Buy what you want, you really wont go wrong. Another scope line to consider is huskemawa. Dont have one yet but the shooters i know competing with them do really well. Right now. On my newest hunting rig, a mk 5 3.6 -18 os performing wonderfully. I hear rumor that the mk line of leupolds may be military and police only.

AH HA tracked down and removed by the NightForce SS that runs every forum that discusses optics. So, in truth, we have your allegation and nothing more. But then again, are you being sponsored by the Theta SS ? Only the Shadow knows !
