Lots of People like to bash brands.

Case in point. My buddy has a crap vx3i that doesn't track, he hits it with a screwdriver to make the internals move poi to site it in. It does hold a reasonable zero but it's a piece of junk, he likes Leupold and thinks nocking on a scope is perfectly normal to make it work. He shoots deer primarily 100 yards and in and there for doesn't do anything to make it preform besides hold zero. To him Leupold is great, just like most of the people using Leupold. He wouldn't give it a bad review because it doesn't preform under his expectations, but that doesn't make it a good optic. It's still a hunk of junk.

Lol. why all the arguing? go ahead people. Don't listen to experience, do whatever you want. It's your money. some of us have 25k worth of glass in our gunsafes that we've run through the woods and tested. Some of us have more than that.

When you buy an expensive piece of glass, you do it because you want it to work really well. Nobody thinks "man I hope I'm dropping 2k on a piece of crap so I can say I told you so." But then sometimes we are disappointed when it's not great. And we learn lessons.

So you want a leupold or burris or xyz whatever? go buy yourself one. Nobody's stopping you. It may be the best piece of glass that you have ever owned, and it may be 100% suitable for your intended purposes. whatever.

Still waiting for someone to tell me what scope to put on my new 6.5 saum. I don't want to be disappointed.

If you're not a sissy and concerned about weight nightforce ATACR 5-25x56 F1. ;)

I have an all steel body Lyman down in the shop. It's one that when you sight in your cross hairs are not centered anymore. Still functions great. But I would not put it on one of my hunting rifles.
I want a 2nd focal plane scope so I can see the cross hairs on low power. And I want to have a drop compensation turret that I can put custom drop tapes on or have custom engraved. Like 20oz or less.

A Swarovski X5 3-18. It's the most incredible scope that I ever looked through and it's a Swarovski;)

Plus it's made 100% in Austria so you won't get into arguments on the internet about your glass being made in Asia;)

Bashing things by faceless people on the internet who can never be held accountable is the way things are.

If you chose to believe them, that's up to you.

There are very few real experts on optics and they don't reside here.

You might consider that if Leupold were as bad as these keyboard warriors say, they would have gone the way of Yugo decades ago.

Both the Army and USMC use Leupold products, obviously they are idiots ---- right ?
Wow, you have been here almost 12 days and are calling members keyboard warriors, good job!
It is our job to decide if anything said, printed, or viewed is on the up and up, everything. I'm not one to publicly bash a product just because I am not a fan, I usually dump it at rock bottom pricing and move on. But if I choose to speak up, no different than anyone else, I will give my opinion. If anyone takes my advice, great, if not, that is great too. I do not need a receipt or a work order to know what went down either, and I do not have to supply it to give an opinion, ever.
I like Leupold as a company, said so in this post, but you saying they would have went the way of the Yugo if they were that bad. In the prs crowd, IMO, the largest scope market in the country right now, they almost have. They failed to innovate, keep up with the times, and it has bit them big time. The Mark 4 lost gold standard status over10 yrs ago. Their Mark 5 sits around 50-50, love-hate amongst owners.
And your comment that no optics experts reside here, looks like you will fit right in then, I doubt many of us will be taking scope advice from you after your last sentence.
