First Deer with Suppressed Rifle...Incredible

Nice man. Tremendous advantages for sure. They absolutely should be easier to get. This year was also the 1st time I've been able to harvest a couple deer with one. The sound of the impact was surprisingly loud...At 260 yards it seemed louder than the report of the rifle.

I've been shooting suppressed for a few years.

Two shots come to mind, a head shot at 120 and shoulder at 354 both from a creed with a 7 inch TB.

Those two were dramitic as it was late and dead still. The pop of bullet impact was dramatic given the conditions.

I'd love to have one......"if" I didn't have to cut about 8" off of my rifle barrel. Can't envision "hunting" with a barrel longer than 26", and much prefer my 24"! memtb

I would also like to add the benefit to getting the kids involved in hunting. My son is very sensitive to noise and the suppressors are amazing to help cut down on that boom. If you want to be really impressed load up some lehigh defense 194 maximum expansion in a 300 blackout, they are devastating on deer. Subsonic loads are the best way to enjoy a suppressor, especially a 22lr.

I've read here that suppressors can actually make your gun (load) shoot more accurate. So, I was excited when I got mine to shoot of course! However, my 6.5 CM went from 3/4" ctc groups all day with my handloads at 100 yards, to 1 1/2" ctc! What the? Any thoughts on this?

I had to rework new loads for all my rifles when putting on a suppressor. After new loads were established, I got equal or *slightly* better groups.

On the slip on threaded adapter, I have read that guys have trouble keeping them from slipping, especially on magnum rifles. Anybody able to confirm?

Possible deflection with interference (alignment / bullet striking inside can), or the change in barrel harmonics is causing an issue. I would ask your builder for help before anything else.

Unfortunately I live in New York but just yesterday, due to the generosity of a friend, I shot a doe on a friends ranch in South Texas with a suppressed 6.5 Creedmore....all I can say is that I was amazed. Barely a crack, a hissing as the bullet cuts through the air, then the sound of an impact. No recoil to speak of either.

Just an amazing experience. I also shot his 338 Lapua at 500 yard steel.
Made me realize how fast Bullets travel and how hard they impact....both sounds muffled by the report of an unsurpressed rifle.

Im jealous of you guys now, and I totally "get it" why people are crazy about suppressors
Get out of New York and you'll have enough money left after taxes to buy a suppressor.
