Hopefully the quarter bore guys will stop crying now and they can knock themselves out "bridging" these gaps.
Blackjack sells 131gr bullets... Also not in stock in ANY quantity.
Not sure what you mean. High bc 1/4 bore bullets regardless of material don't exist for 10" twist. 7" twist barrels are available. We built a 257 Weatherby with one.Not necessarily Steve. It's not a personal vendetta. It's just that most of us live in free states, and don't need or have to shoot copper monos. A "heavy" copper mono requires even more twist than a heavy cup & core lead jacketed bullet. And monos cost more.
Everyone wants to bitch about the 1/4-bore guys, but nobody has anything in stock, so how can we just go online and order it? Blackjack sells Bartlein 7.25" twist barrels (only people I've seen openly advertising them).... Not in stock. Blackjack sells 131gr bullets... Also not in stock in ANY quantity.
Been there done that! They are a noisy bunch that cry about no high bc bullets but none are willing to put a barrel with a fast enough twist to stabilize a high bc bullet on their rifles. Somehow they think it should be possible to make a high bc bullet that will stabilize in a 10" twist. Ain't gonna happen.
Steve
I find it interesting that they created and tested all of those before testing with the old school long actions.....
Guys setting around with a 25-06 that's on it last leg, with brass, dies, etc. Might be interested in these. That's my situation. I'm interested to see how things work for them with a standard 25-06. If it's looking good. I might rebarrel to 25-06 or 25-06AI with a 7 twist.
Not really interested in all of their short action setups though. I find it interesting that they created and tested all of those before testing with the old school long actions.....
I never once said for a 10" twist... Now did I?Not sure what you mean. High bc 1/4 bore bullets regardless of material don't exist for 10" twist. 7" twist barrels are available. We built a 257 Weatherby with one.
