wow , I have had 0 issues but you got me thinkin about checking meplats. are these mag fed rifles and maybe the tips are taking a beating? I have been single feeding for about 7 or 8 years now. maybe running a round up the ramp into the chamber beats it up?
View attachment 92415 View attachment 92416 View attachment 92417 Here are some photos a friend sent of his cow elk he had to shot 3 times to put down. Under 500 yards, 300wm 215 hybrid, 2950fps muzzle. The "pin hole" disease seems to be spreading!
Hit a vital, even with a 30 cal "pin hole" and you won't be shooting a animal 3 times
How would you know? All you've had is 100% expansion...
I'm assuming lungs are vitals? Shot placement is not an issue on these close under 500 yard broadside animals shot with bench rest accurate long range rifles. The bullet holes in the elk I provided pictures of earlier were both behind the shoulder lung shots with no reaction so it took a 3rd shot in the shoulder to put her down and stop her from from walking away with the herd! These are meat hunts so we wait for broadside pocket shots. Maybe I'll just resort to head shots!Hit a vital, even with a 30 cal "pin hole" and you won't be shooting a animal 3 times

You're here to help? Why didn't you say so? That would have made all the difference! If your trying to start a argument over the statement that a hole through the middle of your heart won't kill you deader than dead than I can't help ya at all and there's no point in trying..
Same with a single 7mm "pin hole" in a deer...Except it fell over and died before it even hit the ground, and never moved.Hit a vital, even with a 30 cal "pin hole" and you won't be shooting a animal 3 times
